Ecclesiastes 2:13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God.
It makes a person feel satisfied and pleased with their self when one can enjoy the feeling of accomplishment. After a long day of work and finally sitting down at a meal with the family gives one the feeling of fulfillment.
It seems today many folks want something for nothing. They expect things to be given to them without them ever having to work or earn it. They have forgotten about earning your bread by the sweat of your brow.
Many people have forsaken God and his teachings. They have forsaken the concept of “work ethics”, where you earn your own way. They have lost their sense of pride and respect for themselves and others. They no longer fear or respect even God!
Today we must take a stand. Today Christians must set the example of working for our bread, pleasing our Lord, and, living a clean decent life. If Christians allow ourselves to be beggars along with the rest of the world; do you think that would be pleasing to our God? Do you think God made a mistake by including this verse in his Bible?
I enjoy getting gifts, and, giving gifts. Our verse today says the enjoyment of the good of our labor is a gift of God. I had never thought working was a gift, but, the fruit or “good”, OR the results of working are sure a blessing. The very act of providing and supporting family helps our self esteem. It gives us a feeling of accomplishment and self worth.
GOD knew what he was doing when he gave man a job of “tending” his garden!
