• January 11th: An AARP Drivers Class will be held on Monday at the Grantville Library from 10:30 to 4:30. The class willrefreshyourdrivingskillsandreviewthenewrulesof road. Class completion could result in saving $$$$ on your car insurance! The class is open to all ages. Class costs are $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers. To register call 770-683-0535. • January 14: LaGrange College’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance. The senior pastor of historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta and a longtime champion of civil rights will be the speaker for LaGrange College’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance. The Rev. Dr. Raphael G. Warnock will deliver his address at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Callaway Auditorium, 801 Dallis Street in LaGrange. The event is free and open to the public. • January 16, 7:30 PM – 10:00 PM: Pure Life Studios presents Travis Meadows! An intimate night with Travis Meadows will be an experience music lovers will always try to recapture. According to Rolling Stone Magazine Travis Meadows ‘. . . . has penned some of country’s most stinging songs.’ Meadows currently has songs on the radio by Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, Jake Owen, Frankie Ballard, as well as Southern rock group Blackberry Smoke. • January 19th: Tai Chi for Diabetics! Starting Tuesday, January 19 at 9:30 a.m., Certified instructor Valerie Duke will teach this 6-week class for adults 55+ with diabetes. • January 19th: Reptile Program! Jason Clark, from Southeastern Reptile Rescue, will bring along various reptiles including a variety of snakes and an alligator, while sharing an entertaining and educational program on Tuesday, January 19 from 5:30-6:30 PM. Family friendly event! Refreshments provided after program. Program will be offered in the Fackler Room at LaGrange Memorial Library. Free

• Now – February 6, 2016: Mirror Mirror. In partnership with Hills & Dales and the Legacy Museum, this exhibit will link the Museum as a community participant in the year-long celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Callaway family home. Featuring portraiture-mirroring-portraiture, this unique exhibit will compare photographs with paintings, taking a look at portraiture across centuries and cultures and will include some of Troup County’s best known citizens as well as some of its unsung. The upper floor of the Museum will feature a retrospective of Signe Gruschovenko’s contemporary twist on portraiture. www.lagrangeartmuseum.org

• February 16: Environmental Update! Sierra Club lobbyist Neill Herring and Sierra Club state legislative chair mark Woodall will give us an update on what’s happening in the gold dome during the 2016 session and how we can help our environment stay healthy on Tuesday, February 16 from 7-8 pm: Refreshments served 6:30 until program; Location St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on 207 Greenwood St. LaGrange 30240.

• February 17th: Capital Conservation Day! Be an activist at the gold dome! Join hundreds of other conservationists who will be lobbying for clean air and water on Wednesday February 17. Contact Laura Breyfogle to find out more information and/or carpool.

• Now – March 7: Diabetes Workshop! This is a 6-week class taught on how best to manage your disease. Class will be held on Mondays: 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/22, 2/29, 3/7. There will not be a class on 2/15 due to President’s Day. Informative meeting on Mon. 1/11/16 at 1:00 p.m. Class begins on Mon. 1/25/16 at 1:00 p.m. at The Active Life Wellness Center. • 2nd Tuesday of Each Month: DAV (Disabled American Veterans), Gus Valeri Memorial Chapter 31, 305 Haralson Street (VFW POST 4629), LaGrange, GA 30241 will hold their meetings every 2nd Tuesday of every month at 5:30pm.

• 2nd Tuesday Of Each Month: LaGrange City Council meeting is held at 5:30 p.m. at Council Chambers on Ridley Avenue.

• 2nd Tuesday of Each Month: The Kinship Care Support Group program meets every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 10 a.m. at the Troup County Recreation Department. If you are a Grandparent or other relative raising grandchildren this is for you. You are not alone, help in finding resources in our community plus sharing life issues facing families today.
