Mark 1:17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
Jesus used the language his listeners understood. Jesus did not talk “down” to them, nor, did he try to impress them with his vocabulary. He used words and concepts every one could understand.
Today’s preachers and teachers should take notice and learn from Jesus. It’s not about what the Preacher knows, but, what the lost person don’t know! It’s all about bringing lost people to the cross that they might see what Jesus did for them.
The preacher’s style of preaching is not important. His Bible knowledge is not so important. His fevor and spirit is not important. What is important is his ability to present the simple gospel so that even a child can understand.
Big church buildings do not save folks. Numerous Sunday school rooms do not save folks. A certain way to dress or act do not save folks. The simple gospel saves people. Then, those saved ones will need a bigger place to worship in. They will need more Sunday school rooms to learn more about Jesus. And yes; saved folks will dress and act according to what their Bible teaches when their Pastor points it out!
We all need to step back and allow Jesus to make you to become fishers of men. We all can be soul winners. We all can tell what happened to us when we got saved. That is what witnessing is all about. Telling others what we know.
When was the last time you told others about your salvation experience?
