Pair Arrested For Entering Auto Thefts

Troup County Sheriff’s Investigators have located and arrested the man and woman suspected of multiple Entering Auto Thefts throughout Troup County.

Shortly after the suspect’s names were released to the media as being wanted, the female, Taren Hope Fomby, of LaGrange, turned herself in at the Troup County Sheriff’s Office. The male suspect, Dylan Anthony Dutton, of LaGrange, was located later that afternoon at a Troup County residence and was taken into custody.

Investigators believe the two participated in multiple Entering Auto Thefts throughout Troup County, but they have evidence of at least one incident where Dutton stole a firearm from a vehicle and Fomby was involved.

This is the second arrest for Dutton in the last few months as he was charged with a Robbery for an incident in early May where he allegedly robbed a victim with another female.

Sheriff’s Investigators were able to identify the assailants as Dutton and Katlin Peoples, who allegedly attacked and robbed a victim as they walked on an exercise track located on Upper Glass Bridge Road.

Dutton and People were both charged with Strong Arm Robbery for the prior incident.

As for the current incidents, Dutton and Fomby were booked into the Troup County Jail on various charges.

Dutton, age 22, was charged with two counts of Entering Auto Theft, two counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Theft by Receiving (Felony).

Fomby, age 17, was charged with Entering Auto Theft.

Dutton is being held at the Troup County Jail where he was denied bond. Fomby was released on $5,000 bond.

Additional charges are pending and this investigation is still ongoing.
