The Troup County Division of Family and Children Services invited each of the local agencies that they work with out to Lafayette Square in LaGrange for a quick lunch gathering to thank them for their help in keeping families and children safe in Troup County.
Troup DFCS Director Shay Thornton and some of her fellow caseworkers personally called out and thanked each of the groups, businesses, governmental departments, and individuals who have provided them much needed assistance to get their sometimes difficult, but necessary jobs done.
Thornton personally thanked each of their partners individually and presented them with framed certificates thanking them for their service to the community.
Nearly every agency and non-profit in Troup County was represented from law enforcement, to the Board of Education, to non-governmental groups like CASA, Pathways, and Twin Cedars.
The quick event didn’t last long as the agencies obviously had important work to do, so after gathering for a few seconds to celebrate by the fountain, they gathered their boxed lunch from Chic-fil-A and headed back to work helping the kids and families of Troup County.
