• 10/10/2016 1:00 PM: SOLO: Hometown Heroes! SOLO School’s Out. Library’s Open. Monday, October 10 come and meet our hometown heroes from Station Eleven and learn all about fire safety and prevention. Firefighters will be on hand with their truck and turned out in their gear ready to tell everyone all about fire safety. • 10/10/2016 2:00 PM: More Fun with Legos & Games! Kids are out of school again on Monday in Troup County, so come on over to the LaGrange Memorial Library and keep the the fun going with Legos. • 10/10/2016 5:30 PM: Genealogy I. Learn to use Ancestry. com to find your ancestors and build your family tree. Request a five-generation chart when you register and fill out as much as you can to help you search during class. Registration is required. • 10/13/2016 4:30 pm: Glow-in-the-Dark Pumpkins! Create pumpkins that will glow-in-the dark just in time for fall and Halloween! This program is especially for tweens (ages 9 to 12 years). Supplies will be limited, so registration is required. The sign-up list will be at the front desk at the LaGrange Memorial Library. Come wearing clothes that won’t suffer from a little messiness. • October 13th: The LaGrange Woman’s Club and Dillards will present the Fall fashion show on October 13 at 12 noon at Del’Avant. For tickets contact 706-884-1832 or a club member.

• October 14th: The Active Life Recreation Center is pleased to announce the Monthly Ballroom Dance, for Adults of all ages, to be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 8 p.m. in the Wellness Center. • October 14th: West Point Lake Heritage will be held on Friday, October 14, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Leaving from Highland Marina Resort, Sally Bethea, director of Chattahoochee Riverkeeper from 1994-2014 will enlighten us about the role CRK has played in improving the water quality of communities downstream of Atlanta and especially West Point Lake. West Point native and history buff Stephen Johnson will share tales of Native Americans who once lived along the Chattahoochee River as well as how West Point residents fared floods before West Point Lake was formed. • October 15th: 16th Annual CLCP Leggin’it for Literacy 5K & Fun Run will be held on Saturday, October 15th. Registration begins at 5:30 pm and music by Smokey Road Band. The tot trot will be at 7 pm, Zumba Warm up at 7:15 pm. 5K run at 7:30 pm, and a 1 mile run at 7:35 pm. You can register online at www.active.com. • October 20 – 22: 6th Annual Merry Market will be held October 20 – October 22. Merry Market Shopping Extravaganza features over 40 vendors from throughout the Southeast selling unique and specialty items just in time for the holidays. This exciting 3 day event kicks off on Thursday evening with a Preview Party from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Your ticket includes first chance to shop, food, beverage, entertainment, silent auction AND allows entrance for shopping the entire time the market is open. $30 All day shopping Friday, October 21, 9 a.m-6 p.m. and Saturday, October 22, 9.a.m. – 5 p.m. One day admission ticket $5.
