A LaGrange man is facing an Aggravated Battery charge after he allegedly beat another man over the head with a board over money.
Tuesday afternoon about 3:06 p.m., officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to the 200 block of Carver Street in reference to a fight in progress where one of the subjects was being beat with board.
Officers arrived and met with the adult male victim, who had a serious laceration to the back of his head. The victim advised officers that Willie Anthony Tucker had assaulted him with a board over some money he owed to Tucker.
Police were advised that Tucker had just left the area in a silver Volvo. Tucker was later located and as a result of the investigation he was placed under arrest for the assault.
Tucker, age 33, was arrested and transported to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office where he was booked into the jail and charged with Aggravated Battery.
The victim was transported to Well Star West Georgia Medical Center, where he was treated for the cut to rear his head and a broken bone.
As of press time, Tucker is currently being held at the Troup County Jail on $10,000 bond.
This incident is still under investigation by the La- Grange Police Department Criminal Investigations Section.
