Police are investigating an incident where a teen was shot at a local recreation center in LaGrange. At this point, the shooting suspect has been identified, but he has been successful in avoiding police.
Saturday afternoon about 4:13 p.m., officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to the Griggs Recreation Center on Glenn Robertson Street in reference to reports of a subject who had been shot.
Officers arrived and made contact with the 17-year-old victim who had a single gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was then rushed to an undisclosed hospital for emergency treatment.
Detectives with the La- Grange Police Department Criminal Investigation Section then began an investigation and were able to acquire evidence indicating the victim had been shot by 18-year-old Justin Marquez Dallas.
Warrants have since been issued for Dallas’ arrest for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime.
Police say they attempted to serve the warrants on Dallas, but they have so far been unable to locate him.
This incident is still under investigation by the La-Grange Police Department Criminal Investigation Section.
