Twenty community leaders have graduated from the West Georgia Health Foundation Insiders Series, a program that showcases the quality healthcare and technologies available at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center and educates on the challenges facing the healthcare industry.
Insiders participate in eight monthly sessions that include presentations by physicians and tours of key departments including surgery, cardiovascular, hospice, home care, occupational medicine, wound care, emergency, women’s health, physical therapy, oncology services, and the Vernon Woods Retirement Community.
Holly Roberts with Circles of Troup County said she found the program beneficial.
“My dad was a hospital administrator,” she said. “I have a high standard for hospitals. I am very impressed with all the things I have seen at our hospital. Thank you so much for providing such informative sessions.”
Chris Turk with Interface-FLOR agreed.
“This program is outstanding, and I very much appreciate that so many health care professionals took two hours out of their day to meet with us and help us better understand the vital services they provide to the community.”
Capt. Derwin Brewer with the Troup County Sheriff’s Department described the Insiders Series as a “great experience for those on the outside looking in. I have enjoyed this experience to the fullest.”
