Detectives at the LaGrange Police got a brief reprieve of the holidays from what seems to be the day in, day out of robberies and shooting incidents that have come to plague our otherwise peaceful city. After a few calm days off, the criminals appear to have come roaring back with a pair of Armed Robberies in less than 24 hours.
While still investigating the robbery from South Greenwood Street, police were alerted to another incident on Curran Avenue.
Early Thursday morning about 4:41 a.m., officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to Curran Avenue upon reports of an Armed Robbery.
Police quickly arrived and made contact with the 25year-old victim, who advised he was mugged while headed to work.
The victim explained that he left his home about 4:35 a.m. and was about to enter his vehicle to head to work, but was approached by two unknown males. One of the males then produced a dark colored handgun and pointed it at him, demanding all his money. The two suspects then stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim and fled the scene on foot.
The suspects were only described as two black males wearing all dark clothing.
This incident is still under investigation by the LaGrange Police Department Criminal Investigation Section.
