Female Home Invasion Robber Arrested

LaGrange Police are have made an arrest in the South Greenwood Street Robbery where a woman talked her way into a man’s home claiming to be selling items out of her car. Once the woman stepped into the residence, she allegedly robbed the man at gunpoint.

The initial incident occurred Wednesday afternoon just after 12:30 p.m. in the 700 block of South Greenwood Street. Officers arrived and made contact with the 42-year-old male victim who advised he had just been robbed at gunpoint by the unknown female suspect.

The victim told police that he was approached by the female in front of his residence about possibly purchasing some perfume out of her car. The victim advised he allowed the female to step inside his home, but she then pulled a silver handgun and demanded money.

The female suspect then stole all of the victim’s money along with a pair of rubber boots. She then fled from the scene in a red Nissan Versa headed north on South Greenwood Street.

The victim advised police that the female threatened to return to his home and shoot him if he contacted police.

Using undisclosed methods, police were quickly able to identify the female suspect as Vera Brianna Williams.

Police located Williams the next morning around 8 a.m. and she was found to be in possession of a loaded silver Raven brand .25 caliber handgun, which detectives believe she used during the robbery.

As a result, Williams, age 23, was arrested and transported to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office where she was booked into the jail and charged with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault with a Gun, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.

Williams is currently being held at the Troup County Jail where she was denied bond.

Detectives advised this incident is still under investigation by the LaGrange Police Department Criminal Investigation Section and police are attempting to determine if other suspects are involved.
