Troup County Sheriff’s Investigators have arrested have arrested an East Georgia teen accused of threatening local resident with a gun during a dispute Friday night.
Deputies first responded to the incident Friday evening and after some investigation determined that Jacob Ryan Tarwater, of Chatham County, GA, had punched a Troup County resident and threatened them with a handgun earlier in the evening.
No shots were fired and the authorities area not reporting any significant injuries to the victim. Investigators did not disclose the cause of the dispute between the victim and Tarwater.
As a result of the incident, Tarwater, age 17, was arrested and transported to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office where he was booked into the jail and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Gun, Simple Battery, and Obstruction of Officers.
Tarwater is currently being held at the Troup County Jail where he was denied bond.
This incident is still under investigation.
