House Fire On West Point Road

Troup Fire Investigators are looking into what caused a house fire off of West Point Road late Thursday night.

Thursday night about 11:02 p.m., firefighters with the Troup County Fire Department responded to the Pop Reese Road just off of West Point Road in reference to a structure fire.

Firefighters arrived to found flames visible coming outside the multifamily home and began attempting to put the house fire out.

Troup Fire was eventually able to douse the flames and fortunately no one was injured in the incident, although thousands of dollars worth of damage was done. An estimated $21,000 in damage was done to the house and another $4,000 in damages was done to the property within.

Firefighters cleared the scene at about 3:30 a.m.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The incident is still under investigation.
