LaGrange Police are searching for a man looking to get his tax rebate early, by attempting to rob a local tax service. Maybe next time he’ll remember to bring his W-2, as the armed assailant was quickly turned away empty handed.
Monday morning about 10:08 a.m., LaGrange Police Department officers were called to American Tax Service office on South Greenwood Street upon reports of an Armed Robbery.
Officers arrived and met with employees and several other witnesses who advised that an unknown masked black male entered the business and pulled a large evolver and demanded money.
The employee then told the subject that the business does not keep any cash on hand at the location, so the assailant ran from the scene back out the front door and fled on foot.
Witnesses described the would-be robber as standing at least 6 feet tall with a slender build. The subject was last seen wearing blue sweatpants with a grey hooded sweatshirt and a mask covering his mouth and nose. The subject was estimated to be about 40 years old.
