A local man was robbed and beaten by an unknown assailant Thursday evening. Police are investigating, but they appear to have very little to go on as the victim wasn’t actually able to see his assailants.
Thursday night about 5 p.m., officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to the Well Star West Georgia Medical Center in reference to reports of a subject who had been injured during a Robbery.
Officers arrived and spoke with the adult male victim, who stated he was walking back from the Troup Corner Market on Troup Street near Forrest Avenue when he was grabbed from behind and robbed.
The victim stated the subject pulled his shirt over his head so he couldn’t see and beat him severely with an unknown object.
The unknown assailant(s) then stole his wallet, containing an undisclosed amount of cash; his cell phone, and his keys from his pockets.
The victim explained that never actually saw the attackers before or after the attack, so he was unable to give any sort of description.
Police documented numerous injuries to the victim’s face, chest, back, arms, and legs, which he was receiving treatment for at the Well Star West Georgia Medical Center.
This incident is still under investigation by the LaGrange Police Department Criminal Investigation Section.
