When one of our own is hurting and in need of assistance, we here in Troup County have always come to lend a helping hand. Whether someone is ill, upset, or in danger, we always strive our best to rise up and help them in any way that we can. Such is the case of Haeley Spates who is in a tough battle right now. Her mother Christy is going above and beyond to help her daughter get the help that she needs.
Haeley, 21 years old, is struggling with cystic fibrosis and is currently at UAB Birmingham. Her mother Christy is organizing a Walka- Thon to raise funds for her daughter and her treatment. The Walk-a-Thon will take place on Saturday, March 18 from 12 to 2. The Sweetland Amphitheater will play host to this walk. The Walk-a-Thon is free to run, but donations are accepted.
There are also t-shirts for sale at $20 apiece and some of the proceeds will go directly to Christy’s treatment. For more information on what you can do to help Haeley, please contact her mother Christy at 706-302-0759 or check out their Facebook page at Hugs for Haeley.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
