John 10:27 (KJV): “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me”
I know I’ve been saying this a lot for the past few months, but it is just on my heart because it is so very important to study the word and seek out our Lord. Its imperative that we spend time in prayer and really fine tune our spirits so that we can recognize His guidance and not be tricked by the enemy. Growing up, my dad had a distinct whistle for me and my two brothers. Each were different so he could call each of us as needed. Now, some might think that to be a bit insulting, but it actually made a lot of sense. We were country kids and even though my oldest brother is 7 years older than me and my twin brother, we were always out in the woods of our properties at any given time on any given day. So, when our mom or dad needed us, he’d just whistle his sound for the one he wanted. I share that to say this; As I was walking up my front walk way this morning from just getting off work, I heard a bird in the trees that sounded exactly like MY whistle! For a split second, I was right back as a little girl hearing her dad call for her. In that small moment, my heart leaped with joy and excitement but then I quickly remembered that he has passed on and it truly had to be a bird.
I’ve read in different places online and such a saying that says, “Satan knows your name but he calls you by your sin, but God knows your sin but He calls you by your name.” Whose voice are you hearing in your day time? In your night time? Remember that He loves you.
