LaGrange Police are investigating a Burglary gone wrong that ended up with one of the victim’s being shot.
Late Wednesday night about 12:14 a.m., LaGrange Police received reports of a subject shot in the HIghland Village Apartment Complex on Bridgewood Drive. Officers arrived and found the male victim with apparent gunshot wounds to his calf and arm, so officers attempted to render aid until paramedics could arrive. The victim was then taken to the Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center for emergency treatment.
Three other victims were identified by police, including an undisclosed juvenile, but no additional injuries were reported.
Detectives responded to the scene and later determined that two unknown black males were burglarizing the apartment when the residents returned home. Gunfire then broke out and the wounded victim was struck in the leg.
The shooting victim was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and later released at from the hospital.
Police recovered more than a dozen .9mm bullet shell casings from the crime scene as well as a large bag of suspected marijuana. Offices have not disclosed whether the narcotics are believed to have belonged to the suspects or the victims.
Police have only described the suspects as two unknown black males.
This incident is still under investigation by the LaGrange Police Department Criminal Investigations Section.
