Lafayette Christian Football Stars Announce College Plans

Athletic Director Nick Nehring and Head Football Coach Nate Shaw of Lafayette Christian School (LCS) announced two of their recently graduated seniors that will be moving on to further develop their talent as part of their college experience. Both Nehring and Shaw are very proud of all their athletes and these two young men as they represent the ideals that they have learned at Lafayette Christian and will continue to be successful at the next level.

An all -around talented athlete, Josh Shephard was a starting player for both the football and basketball teams. He played defensive line and tight end for the football team. He was named All State by the GICAA (Georgia Independent Christian Athletic Association) for both 2015 and 2016. He was also a GICAA All Star Selection in 2016 and named All Region for 2015 and 2016. He helped lead both his basketball team and football team to a state championship in 2015. Josh is being pursued by both the University of West Georgia and Point University to join their football programs. He has not yet determined which of these programs he will join in the Fall. Congratulations to Josh for all of his accomplishments and we wish him the best in college!

John Parham also excelled at both football and basketball during his years at LCS and was a starting player for both sports. He played linebacker and wide receiver for the football team. He was named an All Star by the GICAA in 2016 and All Region in 2016 as well. He helped lead both his basketball team and football team to a state championship in 2015. John has received an offer from Point University but he has not yet committed to their football program. Congratulations to John for all of his accomplishments and we wish him the best in college!
