The Krewe of Mask here in LaGrange is still hard at work on several projects here in the community. As many may recall, this past February LaGrange’s first ever family friendly Mardi Gras parade took over the downtown streets as parents and kids alike came out to join in the fun. After the smash success of the parade and after party, the Krewe of Mask has truly taken off. This past Saturday night, June 17th, the Krewe held another of their membership drives at the beautiful Nutwood plantation home.
Fort those that have never been to this old plantation home here in our local community, it is a sight not to be missed, especially when the group from the Krewe of Mask come out for a function. The tables were decorated in vibrant purple for Mardi Gras colors, there was live music from Kenny Lewis straight from New Orleans, and there was delicious hors d’oeuvres and drinks for everyone to partake in. It was a night of fellowship, membership, and several new members getting ready to join the club.
The Krewe of Mask is so much more than just a once a year parade. This is a group of dedicated people that want to bring a fun, family friendly Mardi Gras scene right here to the local community. Recently the group participated in the Strut the Hooch parade in downtown Columbus and is prepping for many other events throughout the calendar year. With events planned at the amphitheater later this year as well as some excited news involving debutants coming in 2018, there is so much that this club has to offer.
