Former Professional Skateboarder to Lead Skate Park Design Meeting August 3rd

LaGrange, Ga. July 27, 2017 – Former professional skateboarder Kanten Russell is leading the City of La-Grange’s proposed skatepark design meeting.

The design workshop is planned for Thursday August 3rd, 6:30-8:00pm at the District 4 Public Health Office, 301 Main Street in La-Grange.

This is the second design workshop for the proposed skatepark. Russell will facilitate the session and will also serve as Stantec Consulting’s Lead Action Sport designer of the skatepark. He will present design concepts for community feedback.

The City of LaGrange is planning to build a public plaza-style skate park at the south end of downtown, on a portion of city-owned property near the Bull and Main Street intersection.The skate park will provide a safe, designated place for wheeled-sport enthusiasts (skateboarders, BMX bike riders, inline skaters, scooter riders, etc.) to develop their skills and enjoy the company of their peers.

The skate park will be state-of-the-art, based on the latest skate park design principles and constructed with high-quality materials to ensure durability and longevity. It will feature a mix of street and transition-style terrain, with elements designed for all age groups and ability levels.
