Investigators with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office have a local man with entering auto after he was allegedly caught on video breaking into a vehicle.
Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Mike W. Stewart, after they uncovered evidence indicating he forcibly entered someone else’s vehicle.
Investigators initially responded to the incident in rural Troup County in reference to a vehicle breakin. During a canvass of the area for potential witnesses, investigators were able to locate and review security video that they say clearly showed the suspect breaking into the victim’s vehicle.
Using the video, which clearly showed the suspect’s face, Sheriff’s Investigators were able to identify the suspect as Mike Stewart, of LaGrange.
As a result, Stewart, age 53, was arrested and transported to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office where he was booked into the jail charged with Entering Auto Theft.
Stewart is currently being held at the Troup County Jail on $2,000 bond.
