Man Accused of Domestic Violence and Robbery at Local Shop

Police are looking for a wanted domestic violence suspect who has allegedly been terrorizing a LaGrange woman and even followed her into a local shop and robbed her in front of employees.

The most recent incident in a string of domestic altercations occurred Tuesday afternoon about 3:45 p.m., when officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to the Citi Trends clothing store on Commerce Avenue in reference to reports of robbery.

Officers arrived and made contact with the victim, who stated ex-boyfriend, Jacquavious Trammell, snatched her cell phone from her hand and fled the scene.

Police were familiar with Trammell as he had three active domestic violence warrants against him from a previous incident with same female victim a few months prior.

Trammell reportedly fled the scene in a 2001 grey Honda Accord wearing a black shirt and red shorts. Officers searched several areas where they thought Trammell may have fled, but they were only able to locate his vehicle on McGhee Street.

The victim explained that she and her children had gone inside Citi Trends to shop when Trammell entered the store. She stated she was not sure how Trammell knew where she was and was worried about him knowing how to find her. Trammell then reportedly began following the victim around and attempting to argue with her. The victim stated her cell phone then went off with a text message notification and Trammell became mad about the phone. Trammell then allegedly pushed the victim backwards and snatched the phone from her hand. He then left the store with the phone. The victim stated Trammell told her he was going to break the phone as he was leaving.

The victim advised that she has not had regular contact with Trammell since the previous incidents, but he has recently been sending her threatening messages. She stated Trammell had also come by her house the previous night, but she did not make a report because she was scared.

Police later spoke with a Citi Trends employee, who reported seeing Trammell shove the female victim and snatch something from her hand. Trammell then quickly left the store and drove away.

The victim was advised of Temporary Protection Order procedures and additional warrants were issued for Trammell’s arrest.
