LaGrange Police are currently investigating a delayed Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault report where a local man was allegedly robbed and stabbed, but didn’t bother to seek help till the next morning.
Tuesday morning about 8 a.m., officers with the La-Grange Police Department responded to the West Georgia Medical Center in reference to a subject who had been stabbed.
Officers arrived and made contact with the victim who stated he was stabbed and robbed the previous afternoon.
The victim explained that he was walking along Hamilton Street the previous day, around noon, when three unknown males assaulted and robbed him in front of the Ikkie Food Mart. The victim stated that the assailants walked up behind him and he didn’t get a good look at them. He initially stated there were two male subjects, but later thought there may have been three.
The victim advised that one of the males grabbed him around the neck and a second grabbed him around the waist, while a third went through his pockets.
According to the victim, once he told the males he did not have any money, one of them then cut him on his left shoulder. The males then fled the area on foot and were out of sight before he could get a good look at them.
The victim stated he initially thought the cut wasn’t that bad, so he walked home and did not contact police. When he got up to for work the next morning he realized how bad the cut was and decided to go to the hospital.
Police observed a large laceration on the victim’s back, which appeared to have been caused by some sort of unknown sharp object. The victim stated he never saw a knife, but he assumed the cut came from a razor blade.
Officers also spoke to the victim’s wife, who stated she tried to get him to go to the hospital after seeing the cut, but he initially refused to do so.
The suspects were only described as three unknown young black males.
This incident is still under investigation by the LaGrange Police Department Criminal Investigation Section.
