Wanted Suspects Found with Guns and Drugs Outside Waffle House

LaGrange Police have arrested two wanted suspects on multiple additional charges after they were caught outside a local Waffle House with guns and a large amount of marijuana.

Late Saturday night about 11:30 p.m., officers with the LaGrange Police Department observed wanted subject, Delino Pritchard, at the Waffle House on New Franklin Road.

Officers were familiar with Pritchard, so they made contact and took him into custody for three felony drug warrants previously issued for his arrest.

After taking him into custody, officers made contact with the Leperrious Ramsey, who had just dropped Pritchard off.

Ramsey was also determined to have a warrant for his arrest for Theft by Taking, so he was taken into custody.

While initially speaking with Ramsey, officers observed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle he was driving. The vehicle was then searched and officers found a loaded Glock .40 caliber pistol near the passenger side door where Pritchard had been seated. Police also located a silver .25 caliber handgun in the driver door panel that was partially concealed.

Pritchard told police that the Glock handgun was his and it was registered to him.

After the firearms were removed from the vehicle, officers located a blue gym bag that had an extremely strong odor of marijuana. The gym bag was then searched and found to contain a Tupperware container, which held a felony amount of suspected marijuana.

Both Pritchard and Ramsey were later questioned about the marijuana and they both denied ownership of the illegal drugs, despite the bag being found within arm’s length of both subjects.

Upon being advised that the amount of marijuana recovered would be a felony, Pritchard stated, “There isn’t over an ounce of marijuana. There’s no way.” He then began trying to convince Ramsey to take ownership of the marijuana, but Ramsey refused.

As a result, both subjects were arrested and transported to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office where they were booked into the jail on various charges.

Pritchard, age 25, was charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Firearm During a Crime, and warrants for Possession of Amphetamine, Possession of a Schedule II Drug, and Possession of Marijuana – Less than an Ounce.

Ramsey, age 18, was charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Firearm During a Crime, and a warrant for Theft.

Both suspects were later released from the Troup County Jail on bond.
