The Downtown LaGrange Development Authority elected Bill Hunnicutt as Executive Director and promoted Keyal Loveland to Director of Sweetland Amphitheatre during the DLDA’s January 9th board meeting.
Bill Hunnicutt had previously been selected as the sole finalist for the Executive Director position and will immediately assume his new role. Hunnicutt replaces Bobby Carmichael as Executive Director. The search for Carmichael’s replacement began in September 2017 when he announced his intention to retire from his role at the DLDA. Carmichael will remain in an advisory capacity to the DLDA until February 15, 2018.
Keyal Loveland, a graduate of Auburn University, had previously served as Sweetland Amphitheatre’s venue manager. Since January 2016, her responsiblities included box office management, coordinating front of house operations including security, volunteer staffing, concession vendors as well as marketing and branding the amphitheatre’s events. “Keyal has been involved in every major decision regarding Sweetland for these past two years. Her prior experience as assistant manager of Birmingham’s Iron City music venue has been invaluable. She has played a significant role in talent selection for Sweetland’s summer concert series and managing Sweetland’s Craft Beer Festival,” Carmichael said.
Hunnicutt added, “We are fortunate to have someone with Keyal’s background and energy on our staff. I look forward to working with her to take Sweetland to the next level.”
