Forget about the snow and ice.
High school basketball is back on the slate and the court. The LaGrange Academy Warriors will host Notre Dame tomorrow. The girls game will tip off at 5 p.m., and the varsity boys will play at 6:30 p.m.
The LaGrange Academy girls are coached by Mel Major, and the Warrior boys are under the direction of Will Long. LaGrange High and the Callaway Cavaliers will also play on Tuesday night. The Grangers will hit the road for Cartersville in a pair of Region 5-AAAA basketball games.
Callaway will also try to win on the road in Region 5-AA at Columbus Jordan. The girls game will get underway at 6 p.m. The varsity boys are set for a 7:30 p.m. start. The same tipoff times are scheduled for the boys and girls LaGrange-Cartersville basketball games.
Lafayette Christian will also entertain Central Christian on Tuesday with girls and boys starting times of 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. On Friday the Grangers, the No. 16-state ranked boys team, will play at Troup High.
Meanwhile Callaway will travel to Lamar County for a pair of region girls and boys games on Friday. Those contests will commence at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in Barnesville. This Friday’s basketball slate will also include the LaGrange Academy and Brandon Hall rivalry matchups for girls and boys.
Those games will begin at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at LaGrange Academy. Saturday’s basketball lineup will include LaGrange High at Sandy Creek and the Troup Tigers at Cedartown in Region 5-AAAA action.
Coach Blake Craft’s Troup High boys are 8-7 overall and 3-2 in the region. The LaGrange High boys, who are coached by Mark Veal, have a 14-6 overall record.
The Grangers are 4-2 in the region. LaGrange High is the defending Region 5AAAA basketball champion.
