Police Investigating Pair of Hit and Run Collisions

LaGrange Police are investigating two separate Hit and Run accidents that occured near each other around the same time Friday night.

Friday night about 9:50 p.m. LaGrange Police responded to Lafayette Parkway at North Davis Road in reference to a Hit and Run collision.

Officers arrived and determined that the suspect vehicle rear-ended the first victim’s vehicle while it was stopped in traffic for a red light at the intersection.

The victim stated he was stopped while traveling south on North Davis Road in the left turn lane and waiting for a traffic light to change to green, when he was struck from behind by another vehicle. The other vehicle then backed up, turned, and drove north on North Davis Road.

The suspect vehicle was described as a white Mini Cooper with a black top. The suspect driver was described as a white male with a black hat.

The victim’s vehicle sustained minor damage to the rear bumper, but there were no injuries.

Police searched the area for the suspect vehicle, but it was not immediately located.

The second Hit and Run occurred just a few minutes later just down the road around 10 p.m. Officers responded to the second accident that occurred on private property at the Chick-fil-a on Lafayette Parkway.

During the second incident, officers determined that the suspect vehicle backed out of a parking place and struck a stopped vehicle that was waiting in the drive thru line. The vehicle then fled the scene without providing required information to the victim.

The second victim described the suspect vehicle as a silver Ford Crown Victoria with a Georgia tag. The driver was described as an unknown black male.

The victim stated the other driver got out of his vehicle and asked if he was okay, but then immediately got right back into his vehicle and fled the scene.

Using the tag number from the suspect vehicle, officers were able to determine the vehicle was registered to a male in Harris County.

Both incidents are currently under investigation.
