Police Arrest Shooting Victim for Drug Possession

LaGrange Police have arrested a shooting victim who was later determined to illegally be in possession of legal and illicit narcotics.

Early Friday morning about 2:15 a.m., officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to West Georgia Medical Center in reference to gunshot wounds.

While helping the victim, hospital staff discovered two plastic baggies and a large amount of cash in the clothing of the subject, later identified as Ladarius Ti’unque Xavias Truitt, who was brought in for a gunshot wound.

One of the bags contained three light blue pills that were determined to be Xanax and the other plastic bag contained twenty pink and green tablets that were determined to be Ecstasy.

Once Truitt was medically cleared and discharged from the hospital, he was placed under arrest for two counts of violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act. Truitt, age 21, was arrested and transported to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office where he was booked into the jail charged with Possession of a Schedule I Drug (Ecstasy) and Possession of a Schedule III Drug (Xanax).

The shooting incident is still under investigation by the LaGrange Police Department Criminal Investigation Section.

Truitt is currently being held at the Troup County Jail on $10,000 bond.
