The Courtyard Marriott Ribbon Cutting Draws a Huge Crowd to Downtown LaGrange

In every community, there are moments that stand in its memory, defying the process of time and remaining key moments in our history. LaGrange and Troup County have experienced a few of these moments over the last few years with all of our incredible growth. This past Thursday afternoon, February 1st, we experienced another as the community gathered in the heart of downtown to cut the ribbon for the new Courtyard by Marriot Hotel, officially welcoming them into the LaGrange/Troup County Chamber of Commerce.

That Thursday afternoon, there were many dignitaries and chamber representatives present for this historic event. The executive director of the Downtown LaGrange Development Authority Bobby Carmichael was the first to speak, talking about his team’s dedication to this project and its roots that began many years ago. Mayor Jim Thornton also spoke about the city of LaGrange and the council’s dedication to taking the location of the old Mansour’s department store building and using that space to create something truly special.

Additionally that afternoon, the three co-owners of the hotel, Ben Garret (President of RA-LIN), Nick Lakha (President of Paramount Hospitality), and Josh Chapman (President of Linco Properties), were all present for this incredible ceremony. Lakha thanked his staff that has worked tirelessly since the hotel opened, training and preparing the building for guests. The hotel has been very active, booking up quickly for different weddings and events that have been taking place. After the ribbon was cut, the group returned inside the hotel for drinks and refreshments.

Opening this past December, the new Courtyard by Marriott features creative lobby space as well as Courtyard’s latest room design. The hotel provides a lot of options in order to maximize their guest’s time at the hotel. The hotel is located at 25 West Lafayette Square, and has 90-rooms. It will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned by Paramount LaGrange and will be managed by Paramount Hospitality Management out of Atlanta. The Courtyard Marriott in downtown LaGrange offers guests convenient access to historic downtown LaGrange, Sweetland Amphitheatre, Del’avant Event Center, Hills & Dales Estate, the Biblical History Center, and many incredible shops across the downtown area.
