Girls Day Seminar for Middle and High School teenagers Hosted at Library

Tonya Dean recently launched a new empowerment ministry for teen girls and women. She hosted a Girls Day Seminar for Middle and High School teenagers. This seminar was held at LaGrange Memorial Library on Saturday February 3, 2018 from 11:30 am – 2:00 pm.

There were 31 girls in attendance and this was the second Girls Day event in Troup County. Speakers that day included Tonya Dean, Jennifer Campbell-Jones, Desera Carter, Latoya Parks, Angela Carwtight, and Ilaya Brown.

Topics that were covered included knowing your worth/you’re a gift, self-esteem, self-discipline, challenges teens face, and girl chats. The mission of Girls Day is to encourage and empower teens and women to see beyond what they know and to do more than they thought possible.

Their first Girls day kick off was a vision board workshop in the summer of 2017 that had 25 girls in attendance. Mr. Viedra Sullivan was the Transformation Coach.
