Double Trouble LaGrange High Tennis Teams Dominate Competition

The Granger boys team fared similarly in the second round against North Gwinnett. Pierce Skinner (3-6, 6-2, 1-0), Jackson Kuerzi (6-1, 6-0), and Youngha Cho (6-2, 6-2) dominated in singles while Jinseong Jun and Baker Skinner pulled out a 7-6, 6-4 win in doubles. James Lee and Albert Kim struggled and fell 6-2, 6-1 in the only loss of the round.

The Lady Grangers had a perfect 5-0 showing in each round of tournament play. Facing Campbell in round one, the LaGrange girls tennis team was represented by Wone Mi Oh (6-0, 6-1), Louise Dodson (6-1, 6-1), and Annie Pauley (6-2, 6-4) in singles. Abbi Lynn Lanier and Lizzie Wilkerson (6-0, 7-5) won in doubles, as did Ella Eiland and Kaylee Key (6-1, 6-2).

Against North Gwinnett in round two, Wone Mi Oh (6-1, 6-2), Louise Dodson (6-2, 6-2), Ella Eiland (64, 6-2) swept the competition in singles. Lizzie Wilkerson and Abbi Lynn Lanier (5-7, 6-0, 1-0) earned another win for the Grangers in doubles. Annie Pauley and Jina Shin (6-2, 6-4) capped off a perfect evening for the Lady Grangers.

Both LaGrange tennis teams will move on to compete in the finals at Granger Park Saturday, March 10th at 10 AM.
