Madison Lewis of the LaGrange High volleyball team signed her intent to continue playing at the next level with LaGrange College.
Lewis signed her intent in front of family, friends, and coaches.
“I really love playing at LaGrange,” she said after making her commitment.
“Ever since I was little, I’ve dreamed about playing in college, so getting to represent my school in playing volleyball has been an awesome experience.”
“I’m so excited to get to do something that I love at the college level. It’s so exciting,” she added.
Lewis started playing volleyball at the age of eleven.
“[Because] they said I was so tall,” she said with a laugh. “So I kind of really just fell in love with the sport and the position I play, supporting my teammates and all.”
Lewis is one of the latest in a series of signings from LaGrange High. Starting last week, the school has seen eight athletes make their commitments to play at the next level for various sports.
Lewis will stay home and continue playing at LaGrange College. She will join a budding volleyball program that went 14-13 last year and enjoys the thought of helping build the program into one with a good tradition. Lewis certainly has the skills to help the Panther team improve its record. Watching her develop along with the program over the next few years will be a pleasure to watch.
