Hogansville Police are Asking for Assistance

Hogansville Police are asking for assistance in identifying those individuals responsible for the vandalism of two fiberglass hummingbird figures that occurred sometime after 1 am Saturday. The hummingbird figures were painted by local artists and installed at significant historic locations around the downtown Hogansville footprint and are a collaborative effort with the City of Hogansville and Hogansville Downtown Development Authority, in cooperation with the Tourism Advisory Council of the La- Grange – Troup County Chamber of Commerce. Two of the figures along the Tower Trail were vandalized and yanked off their stands overnight: “The Mad Hatter” painted by Mary Fields and “The Rose” by Georgia Metternick-Jones. A third hummingbird, “Ride the Waves” by Laura Gfelner, was also ripped from its post several months ago and turned in by a Good Samaritan. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact Hogansville Police Department at (706) 637-6648 or info@hogansvillepd.com.
