The Troup National 12u team continued their dominance this past weekend in the Dixie Youth 12u tournament. After sweeping pool play with a 4-0 record, the Nationals traveled to Swainsboro to kick off the state tournament. Divided into two pools of four, the top two teams from each division were selected to play for the Dixie Youth state title this weekend.
With a blistering 2-1 record in pool play over the weekend, the Troup National All Stars blazed their way into the final round of the state tournament. The All Stars roared to a strong start with a 12-2 victory against Irwin County on Friday. The team rebounded from a tough loss in the second round to blank Thomaston 16-0 to move on to the finals.
The winner of the Dixie Youth state title will win the opportunity to play for the upcoming Dixie Youth Baseball World Series. The Troup National All Stars have played lights-out ball all season in the hopes of winning an invite to the World Series.
Only a few tough games stand between the All Stars and a Dixie Youth State title. Looking back on the team’s dominant record, the All Stars have what it takes to win the title and ultimately a World Series invitation. Part of the final four, the Troup National All Stars team has already earned a tremendous achievement and will continue tournament play this weekend in Swainsboro.
