LaGrange Police are investigating the second business robbery on LaFayette Parkway in as many weeks after an unknown male robbed the local Motel 6 overnight Friday.
Early Saturday morning about 2:10 a.m., officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to Motel 6 on Lafayette Parkway in reference to reports of an Armed Robbery.
Officer arrived and made contact with the motel clerk, who stated she had been seated behind the counter when an unknown masked male entered the office.
According to the clerk, the male immediately told her, “This is a robbery,” and pointed an unidentified small handgun at her. The male then told her that if she gave him all the money she would not be shot. She then turned over an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and the assailant fled from the scene on foot.
The suspect was last seen running toward the nearby IHOP restaurant on LaFayette Parkway.
The unknown suspect is described as a heavy set black male with dark skin, standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall. The suspect was last seen wearing blue pants and a grey hooded sweatshirt.
The assailant’s face was covered with what was described as a white hard cover facemask.
This incident is still being actively investigated by the LaGrange Police Department Criminal Investigations Section.
Police are also investigating the recent robbery of the Charter Bank branch on South Davis Road that occurred on Friday, August 31.
