Police Looking for Suspect from Domestic Stabbing

LaGrange Police are looking for a man accused of stabbing his wife and holding her against her will during a dispute Monday night.

Police began investigating the incident Monday night about 7:55 p.m., when officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to Lafayette Court in reference to domestic disturbance involving a subject who was reportedly cut with a knife.

Officers arrived and made contact with the female victim, who had multiple lacerations to her left arm and additional visible injuries to her arms and legs.

The victim told police that she and her husband, Helver Roblero-Mejia, had gotten into a physical confrontation, during which he was assaulted.

The victim explained that after the assault, she was able to escape to a neighbor’s residence, where police were contacted. Roblero-Mejia fled the scene while the victim was seeking help.

The victim was later treated and released from Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center for injuries sustained during the incident.

Police say the subsequent investigation revealed that the victim had been cut by Roblero-Mejia and held against her will inside her residence for some time before she was finally able to escape and contact law enforcement.

As a result of the investigation, several warrants have been issued for the arrest of Roblero-Mejia and his whereabouts is currently unknown.
