Keyes Street Shooting Suspect Still at Large

Police are investigating an incident where a local man was reportedly shot multiple times during an armed robbery on Keyes Street.

Sunday night about 9:17 p.m., LaGrange Police responded to the WellStar West Georgia Medical Center Emergency Room in reference to reports of a subject who was shot.

Officers arrived and made contact with the 22year-old male victim, who had two to three gunshot wounds to both of his legs. The victim told police that he had been shot in his vehicle near his cousin’s house on Keyes Street.

The victim explained that he had not been at his cousin’s house very long and that he got back into his vehicle when an unknown subject approached his car door from the roadway and opened it. The male then reportedly pointed a gun at him and told him to give him everything he had.

had nothing to give him, the suspect started shooting at him. He then heard another subject telling the assailant, “Come on, bro. Let’s go.”

The assailant then fled on foot toward Hamilton Street and out of sight.

The victim advised he then immediately drove to his mother’s residence and got her to drive him to the hospital.

The victim stated he had never seen the shooter before, but he was able to provide a description of the suspect.

The suspect was described as an unknown black male with a light complexion, standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall. The male was believed to be between 16 to 18 years old. He also reportedly had a distinctive space between his front teeth.

The suspect was last seen wearing a sweat suit running toward Hamilton Street.

This incident is still under active investigation by the LaGrange Police Department Criminal Investigation Section.
