Mr. Tony Wright, age 52, of Hogansville, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Wright was born October 1, 1964, in LaGrange, son of the late Roy and Barbara Allen Wright. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, he was a 1982 graduate of Hogansville High School, attended Baptist Tabernacle Church in LaGrange, and owned and operated T & B Construction Company. Tony enjoyed working, but especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Cindy Wright; daughter, Nickie Crawford and her husband Josh; son, Bubba Barrett; grandchildren, Courtney, Ryder, and Layton; brother, Chris Wright and his wife Teresa, all of Hogansville; mother in-law, Cookie Helton also of Hogansville; and brothers in-law, Hal and Kaye Helton of Grantville, Lee Helton of Hogansville. The funeral service was conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jimmy McMillian and the Reverend Jody Mitchell officiated and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Wednesday night. Mr. L. D. (Val) Vaillancourt, age 79, of Cragford, AL, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston, AL. Mr. Vaillancourt was born January 14, 1937, in East Chicago, IN, son of the late Leonel and Beatrice Vaillancourt. An Army veteran, he was a former resident of Newnan and Hogansville and retired as a customer service agent for Delta Airlines. He was a former member of the Hogansville Kiwanis Club. Survivors include his wife Anne Vaillancourt of Cragford; son, Scott Vaillancourt of Wildwood, FL; daughters, Cindy Jakicic and her husband Gary of Newnan and Paula Hammett of Phenix City, AL; brother in-law, John Aiken of Fayetteville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Prince David Carroll, age 60, of Woodbury, GA died Friday, October 28, 2016 at his home in Woodbury, GA. Celebration of Life services for David Carroll will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday November 6, 2016 at Smitty’s Café in Woodbury GA. Mr. Carroll was born November 12, 1955 at Ft. Benning the son of Prince W. and Joanne Hanson Carroll. He worked at Smitty’s Café and formerly worked at the Warm Springs Medical Center with maintenance and food services. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Anita Carroll of Woodbury, son Justin Carroll and his wife Jamee and grandson Raidyn Carroll all of Phenix City, AL; three sisters; Judy Osborn of Columbus, GA and Susan Curran and Sonya Waldridge both of South Carolina; sister in law, Rhonda Baker; brothers in law, Russell Baker and Michael (Diane) Thomas; nephews, Brandon (Caitlyn) Thomas and Dylan Thomas; nieces, Shana Thomas and Kaitlyn Baker; and great nephew, Corey Thomas. Joseph Randall Daniel, age 60, of Manchester, Ga., passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Warm Springs Medical Center in Warm Springs, Georgia. Funeral services were held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home in Manchester. Rev. Dan Dixon officiated. Interment followed in Meriwether Memory Gardens. His classmates and friends served as Honorary pallbearers. The family received friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 1, at Cox Funeral Home in Manchester. Mr. Daniel was born August 13, 1956 in Wedowee, Alabama, the son of Joseph Thelbert Daniel and Lana Mae Whaley Daniel. He retired as a principal from Mountain View Elementary School in Manchester, Georgia, spending most of his career in Meriwether County School system. After retirement, he worked at Edelson’s Army Store in LaGrange, Georgia. He attended both First United Methodist Church and Church of Christ in Manchester, Georgia. Survivors include his wife, Jan A. Daniel of Manchester; his children, Kyle Daniel of Columbus, Ryan (Mallory) Daniel of Pine Mountain and Clay (Vicki) Daniel of Fortson; nine grandchildren, Natalie Daniel, Addison Daniel, Bailey Bryan, Brady Daniel, Anniston Daniel, Emma Carroll, Jayden Carroll,Avery Daniel and Ella Daniel; two brothers, Ronald (Susan) Daniel of Elizabethtown, NC., and Roger (Robin) Daniel of LaGrange, Ga.

Mrs. Jeannie Lynn Bowen Fowler, age 66, of Pine Mountain, passed away on October 31, 2016 at the WellStar West Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Fowler was born on November 25, 1949 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Huel Bowen and Virginia Ogletree Bowen. Mr. Jeremy Thomas Sullivan, age 41, of Valley, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at his residence. He was born on February 2, 1975 in Dothan, Alabama. Jeremy was an outstanding athlete during and after his high school years. He was a proud and avid Auburn University Football fan. He was a United States Army Veteran who served two tours of combat in Afghanistan. He attended theological seminary school and was later ordained as a minister. He was a member of The Bridge Church in Beulah and served as a Youth Pastor. He loved his God, his family, friends, and country. He is survived by his wife, Tia Teague Sullivan; parents, Thomas G. and Janice Lamb Sullivan; children, Tyler Sullivan, Jacob Sullivan, Jeremiah Luke Sullivan; stepchildren, Kaitlyn Webber, Garrett Key, Ryan Key; siblings, Gary (Bonnie) Sullivan, Lindsey (Joey) Sullivan Dicapua, Misty (Scott) Hobbs Jowers; grandson, Jax Tyler Sullivan. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 2:00P.M. at The Bridge Church. Interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett. Pastor Bill Bryan officiated. Onzelle “Zell” Webb Hollis
Mrs. Onzelle “Zell” Webb Hollis, age 82, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at the Bethany House in Auburn. Mrs. Hollis was born on May 13, 1934 in Lanett, Alabama to the late Horace and Lucille Webb. Graveside services were held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 1:00P.M. EDT at the Fairfax Cemetery. The Rev. Doug Blackman officiated. No visitation was planned prior to the service. Mrs. Hollis is survived by her children, Ralph Kenneth Hollis, Jr., Kathy Olive, Tammy Lowery, Candy Sanders, Crystal Burke; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Kenneth Hollis, Sr., and her daughter, Vicki Hollis. Mrs. Hollis was of the Baptist faith. She had retired from Auto sales in the Opelika and Auburn area, having worked at several different dealerships there over the years. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to the Bethany House in Auburn.
