Mrs. Bobbie Tucker Mason, age 85, of Hogansville, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016, at Hospice LaGrange. Mrs. Mason was born August 18, 1931, in Hogansville, daughter of the late Grady and Jessie Collier Tucker. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, she retired as a trainer from Playtex International in Newnan after 35 years of service. She was a longtime member of Antioch Baptist Church and was attending Bible Baptist Church in Hogansville. Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Rhonda and Donald Broach of Grantville; sister, Mildred Veal of Grantville; brothers, Billy Tucker of Grantville, Wayne Tucker and his wife Evelyn of Hogansville; grandchildren, Michelle Gregor, Linda Broach, Brenda Benefield and her husband Charles, Donna Ogle and her husband Paul; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hancel L. Mason and her daughter, Yvonne S. McKibben. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28 in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jerome Wood and Lance Dorrough will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Nellie Ruth Powell, age 69, of Newnan, passed away, Monday, December 26, 2016, at her home. Mrs. Powell was born February 17, 1947, in Newnan, daughter of the late Paul and Lillie Manning Jacobs. She was raised in Columbus, but lived most of her adult life in Coweta County, and was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Ralph Lee Powell of Newnan; her children, Ralph Lee Powell, Jr. and his wife Samantha of Hogansville, James Larry Powell and his wife Trish of Luthersville, Amy Elaine Sutton and her husband Chris of Newnan; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, James Jacobs of Columbus, Joe Jacobs of Stockbridge; sisters in-law, Marie Narvaez, Mary Nell Thrower; aunt, Ruthie Mae Murphy; and several cousins, including Shirley Pate. She was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Jacobs. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28 in the Chapel of Claude A. Mary Elizabeth Nickel Leonard, age 75, of Manchester, GA died Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Columbus Hospice House, Columbus, GA. Funeral services for Mrs. Leonard will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the chapel of Cox Funeral Home, Manchester. Interment will follow in the Meriwether Memory Gardens. Mrs. Leonard was born August 21, 1941 in Manchester, GA the daughter of the late Lewis C. and Floria Pounds Spence. She was retired from Goody Products in Manchester. William Eugene Thomas Jr., age 46, passed away at the West Georgia Hospice on December 24, 2016. Mr. Thomas was born on November 3, 1970 in Winter Park, Florida to Velvie Thomas Foulks and the late William Eugene Thomas Sr. of LaGrange. At a young age, his family moved to LaGrange and for the rest of his life, called LaGrange his home. Mrs. Jill Yvette Cox LaVoie, age 52, of LaGrange, passed away on December 25, 2016 at the WellStar West Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. LaVoie was born in Austell, Georgia on September 25, 1964. Her greatest joy in life was caring for the needs of her family, and she will be greatly missed. Mr. Jerry Woodard, also known as “Moon”, was born February 26, 1955 in LaGrange (Troup County) Georgia to the late, Clifford and Georgia Mae Woodard. He graduated from East Depot High School.
He was employed several years at Stran Steel and LaGrange Limousine Service. On Thursday, December 22, 2016, he peacefully and quietly transitioned from this earthly home. He is survived by three children: Shannon (Yvonnta) Woodard, Chattanooga, TN; Mikkos (Angela) Woodard, McMinnville, TN; and Raven Williams, LaGrange, GA; one brother, Willie (Yvette) Woodard and one sister (whom waslike a mother to him) Mary Formbly, both of LaGrange, GA; six grandchildren, Demarquisti, Savonne, Kai, Trey, Davion, and Brandon; one stepson, Jerome Morgan; former wife and caregiver (whom remained loving and devoted), Gwen Fears; sister-in-law, Janice Byrd; and a host of nieces and nephews. The Celebration of Life Service was held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Confidence Missionary Baptist Church. Dr. W.T. Edmondson officiated.

Mrs. Wanda McDougal, age 58, of Hamilton, GA passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at Hospice LaGrange. Mrs. McDougal was born January 27, 1958 in Duluth, GA, daughter of the late D.C. Fowler and Ruby Holland Fowler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ricky McDougal, sister, Helen Clarke, and three brothers, Jerry Fowler, Charles Fowler, and Royce Fowler. Survivors include her three children, Heather (Chuck) Wyche, Randy (Samantha) McDougal, and Brandon McDougal; two grandchildren, Trey Wyche and Abigail Wyche; four sisters, Betty Jean Frady, Phyllis Tarver, Annie Williams, and Bonnie Prater; one brother, Terry Fowler; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, December 26, 2016 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. Reverend Brian Geter officiated.
