Carol Ann Haynie
Carol Ann Haynie, age 44, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, February 23, 2017 at her brothers home in Cataula, GA. Funeral services for Ms. Haynie were held at 10:30 am on Sunday February 26, 2017 at the chapel of Cox Funeral Home, Hamilton. Interment was in the Waverly Hall City Cemetery. The family received friends from 9:30 until funeral hour. Ms. Haynie was born July 26, 1972 in Homestead Florida the daughter of the late Marie Haynie Smith and Stephen Hansford Haynie. She was a former employee of Subway Restaurant. Ms. Haynie was a member of The Bridge Church in Columbus, GA. She loved life and being around her family. She was preceded in death by her mother and grandmother Mary Bishop Flowers and grandfather Lamar Kenneth Flowers. She is survived by her father Stephen Haynie of Cataula; children Melissa Edwards of Pine Mountain Valley; Ashley Harris of Columbus; Matthew Harris of Columbus and Stephanie Harris of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren Olivia MacKenzie and Jakaria Harris; brother Steve (Donna) Haynie of Cataula and their children Emily Haynie and John Haynie and special friends Willie and Tony Harris. Roy Talmadge McDaniel
Roy Talmadge McDaniel, age 81, of Warm Springs, GA died Thursday, February 23, 2017 at West Georgia Hospice, LaGrange. Funeral services for Mr. McDaniel were held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, Warm Springs. Dr. Bob Patterson officiated. Serving as pallbearers were Chris Storey, Michael Ramsey, Larry McDaniel, Gregory Robertson, Calb Harbin, Tyler Harbin, Josh Harbin Clayton Rogers. Interment followed in the Meriwether Memory Gardens. The family received friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Saturday evening at the funeral home. Mr. McDaniel was born August 22, 1935 in Buena Vista, GA the son of Emmitt Jackson McDaniel and Lillie Mae Pike McDaniel. He was a retired self-employed General Contractor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Warm Springs and love fishing and family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Eugene McDaniel.
He is survived by his wife Jerelene McDaniel of Warm Springs; five children; Kathy (Billy) Storey of Waverly Hall; Ricky (Karen) McDaniel of Warm Springs; Roy (Lisa) McDaniel; Gene (Inna) Brown of Lawrenceville, GA and Kim (Brian) Plemmons of Midland; sisters Louise Vura of Delray Beach, FL and Hazel Ramsey of Warm Springs; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Kevin Lewis Todd
Kevin Lewis Todd was born July 8, 1969 to Judy Bonnell Johnson and the late, John Lewis Todd in LaGrange, Georgia. He was educated in Troup County and graduated from LaGrange High School, Class of 1987; and West Georgia Technical College. Kevin was previously employed by Kimberly Clark, and the Georgia High School Association where he served as an Umpire. He became an entrepreneur, and opened “1 Touch” Detail Shop. Kevin joined St. Paul Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of, Pastor Felton James; he moved his membership to Living By Faith under the leadership of Bishop Donald Lancaster; and then Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Keith L. Todd where he was a dedicated Deacon until God called him home. He was a Member of Sons of LaGrange Masonic Lodge 537, John L. Martin Consistory 367A 32 Degree, Al Karim Temple 242 Oasis of Newnan Desert of Georgia. He served faithfully until his health declined. He was known as “Hook” number 7 for his outstanding baseball skills. On Monday, February 27, 2017, Kevin Lewis Todd passed away at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Georgia surrounded by his family. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sibling, his triplet; paternal grandparents, John Thomas and Emma Mae Todd; maternal grandparents, Leroy and Laura Johnson; great grandparents, Lottie Lue Patillo and Sewell Patillo, Addis Johnson, Julie Bell Todd, Leona and Johnny Turner. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Monshina Todd; four children, Richorias L. Cofield, LaPorsha Maddox, Mercedes Maddox, and Christopher Maddox; two god children, Jackson and Londyn; his mother, Judy Todd; brothers, Pastor Keith L. (Gwen) Todd, Terry Todd; sisters, Sherry (Pernell) Easter and Tonya (Ranaldo) Ogletree; mother-in-law, Bobbie Ellis; sister-in-law, Valerie; and a host of special nieces, special nephews, aunts, uncles and special brothers, special sisters, relatives, and friends. The Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 3:30 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Bishop Donald Lancaster officiated. Burial followed at Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of his mother, Mrs. Judy Todd at 117 Woodridge Circle.

Willner Bradley Houze, Jr. (Bill)
Willner Bradley Houze, Jr. (Bill) was born November 7, 1942 in LaGrange, GA. and died March 1, 2017 at West Georgia Hospice. He was the son of Willner Bradley Houze, Sr. and Mary Lola Stitt Houze. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Bill graduated from LaGrange High in 1961, attended Georgia Tech and graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. After college he joined the United States Naval Reserves and was activated during the Vietnam War. During the time he was in the reserves he went to work as Controller for R. C. Hassler Wholesale Appliance Company and later moved to Columbus, GA to open McDuff Appliance Store. After closing the appliance business he went into the insurance business working for T. Sam Rawls, Jr. representing National Life of Vermont.
In 1976, he moved back to LaGrange and started Houze and Associates, Inc. In 1978, he married Charlotte and they started their wonderful life together.
Bill’s first office was upstairs on Main Street in the Holmes Building. He later moved over what was then Boyette Furniture Company on the Square. After staying there for a few years, he bought the Herring House on Church Street. Bill enjoyed remodeling, and so undertook redoing the house. He and Charlotte would work long hours at night tearing out walls and talking about what memories the old house held. At one time, Bill was a pipe smoker and inherited a pipe collection from an uncle that contained more than 700 pipes. He has a wall in his conference room that holds more than 300 of the more unusual ones.
Bill was very active in local organizations. He has served on the Downtown Development Committee, President of the Life Underwriters Association, and Troup County Republican Party. He was Chairman of the Third Congressional District Republican Party from 1983-85, and was a member of the Electoral College that voted for President Ronald Reagan in 1984. He has personally met President Richard Nixon, President Ronald Reagan, and President George H. W. Bush, Sr.
During his 41 year insurance career, he has won numerous awards with multiple companies that he has represented. He was a member of the Million Dollar Round Table, Court of the Table and Top of the Table.
He was an avid Georgia Tech Yellowjacket fan and has attended most of the home football games over the last 30 years. He was always delighted when Georgia Tech beat UGA. Bill’s main hobby was working at Houze and Associates, Inc. His office staff was like a family to him and he enjoyed going to the office every day and seeing them and working with them. When he wasn’t working, he loved to travel, and he and Charlotte were very fortunate to have had the opportunity to see many countries. Some on conventions with insurance companies, and others with just wonderful friends. His most cherished times was when he was with his family and enjoying his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte McGee Houze; daughters, Stacey Weldon (Jason), LaGrange, GA, Kimberly Houze (Kelvin Briscoe), Canton, GA; son, Jeff Houze (Rachel), Los Angeles, CA; grandsons, Towns Weldon, Leo Houze, Roman Houze; granddaughter, Gwynn Weldon; sister, Elizabeth Kelly, LaGrange, GA , a niece and nephew.
The visitation was held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, GA on Saturday, March 4, 2017, 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
The Celebration of Life Service was held in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, GA, Sunday, March 5, 2017, 3:00pm. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Georgia Health Foundation, with designation for either the Radiation Oncology Department or West Georgia Hospice, 1514 Vernon Road LaGrange, GA 30240.
