Gina Pike

Mrs. Gina Gregory Pike, age 53, of Hogansville, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Pike was born May 16, 1963, in Albany, daughter of the late Gene Gregory and the late Mildred Cofield Gregory Marsh. A lifelong resident of Troup County, she was a member of Prospect Church in Franklin.  Gina had previously owned and operated Small World Day Care in Hogansville and loved caring for all children, but especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Dennis Pike of Hogansville; sons and daughters in-law, Jonathan and Amy Pike of Grantville and their children Emma, Ean, and Evie, Adam and Malissa Pike of Hogansville and their children Grace, Noah, Isaac, and Hope, Jeremy and Christy Pike of Hogansville and their children Decklin and Amelia; brothers, Tony Gregory of Moreland, Steve Gregory of Kennesaw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Rohmann.          The funeral service was conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 19, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Brandon Brooks and Dr. Charles Chapman officiated and interment was in Welcome All Baptist Church Cemetery. Eleanor Mae McRae Baker

Mrs. Eleanor Mae McRae Baker, age 88, of Pine Mountain, passed away on March 19, 2017 at the Florence Hand Home. Mrs. Baker was born on June 20, 1928 in LaGrange to the late Charlie Virgil McRae and Lottie Viola McDaniel McRae. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis Baker, Jr. and brothers, Freck McRae and J.T. McRae.  Survivors include her son, Phillip Lewis Baker and his wife Robin of Pine Mountain; daughters, Sherri B. King and her husband Phil and Tammy B. Colwell and her husband Tim, all of Pine Mountain; grandchildren, Kristen Hall (Chad), Kirk A. King (Leslie), Keith King (DeeDee), Jay Addison, Justin Addison (Heather), Meagan King (Jeff) and Clint Colwell; 12 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; extended family and friends.  Mrs. Baker attended Baptist Tabernacle and was a long time member of the Oak Grove Congregational Christian Church.  She worked at Mansour’s Department Store for over 40 years. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Baptist Tabernacle. Rev. Jimmy McMillian officiated. Interment followed at the Oak Grove Congregational Christian Church. Family received friends on Tuesday from 1-2 at Baptist Tabernacle. Julie Woody

Julie Woody, age 58, of LaGrange, passed away at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center late Thursday evening surrounded by her family. Julie was born February 16, 1959 in Morgantown, West Virginia the daughter of Mrs. Louise Woody Graham and the late Norman G. Woody. She was a paramedic, firefighter, and EMT Instructor for West Georgia Technical Institute. Survivors other than her mother are
sister and brothers-in-law Joetta & Jim Sanders, LaGrange, GA, brothers and sisters-in-law Frank & Janet Woody, Stockbridge, GA, Jeff & Becky Woody, Hogansville, GA and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday from the chapel of the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home. Reverends Tim Tidwell & Mark Davenport officiated. Interment followed in the Franklin City Cemetery. The family received friends at the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home Saturday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. Annie Dell Lakes

Mrs. Annie Dell Lakes was born April 25, 1939 to the late, Laura Lee Howell Allen and Isaac David Allen in LaGrange, Georgia. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and joined the Smyrna Baptist Church. Later in life, Annie Dell joined Confidence Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of the Mother’s Board. She was educated in the Troup County School System. Annie was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Walter Lakes. On Tuesday, March 14, 2017, Annie Dell answered to the ultimate call, transitinioning from labor to Reward. In addition to her parents, and her husband, Walter; she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Fitzpatrick; and brother, Bennie Allen. She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Derak (Loraine) Allen; one sister, Martha (Leroy) Dowell; two brothers: Willie Frank (Marsha) Allen, and John (Elvina) Allen, all of LaGrange; five grandchildren: Jamika (Patrick) Fuller, Lashanta (Dyshonda) Gray, Shawan Allen, Derak Allen, Jr, and Joshusia Wortham; three great grandchildren: J’lyn Allen, Ahnesti Fuller and Zykia Gray. The Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Confidence Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Michael Jackson officiated. Burial followed at Soutview Cemetery.

Mary Alice Elizabeth Fanning

Mary Alice Elizabeth Fanning was born on April 15, 1926 in LaGrange, Georgia to the late Jim Lane and Mattie Carrie Dunson Fanning. She attended Shady Grove Community School and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She later united with the Faith Temple Church of Deliverance where she served faithfully on the Mother Board and the Senior Choir until her health declined. Mary Alice was an accomplished musician, mastering in instruments, such as the organ, harmonica, piano, and guitar, without any formal training. She also served as the pianist for many years for the following churches: Thankful, Rising Grove, Macedonia, Antioch, Pleasant Grove, and Welcome Baptist Church. She served as a chef throughout the years at the Moose Club, Plantation Restaurant, Shades Restaurant, LaGrange College, Collegiate Grill and the Greyhound Bus Station. She also assisted the community in elderly care. She organized and taught Bible Class at the Richard Wolfe Apartments. She peacefully passed away in her home on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four children, Larry D. Fanning, Patricia Fanning Jones, Arthur James Hurston, and Willie H. Hairston; two brothers, John W. Fanning and Charlie C. Fanning. She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, John (Marie) Hurston, LaGrange, GA; Mary (Kenneth) Davie, Newnan, GA; and Gary (Julia) Fanning, Lanett, AL; a brother, Robert Fanning; 19 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren; two special friends, Lula Delaney and Elizabeth White; a god daughter, Leona Webb; a devoted and dedicated caregiver, Melissa Wilson; a loving friend, neighbor, and caregiver, Regina Whitfield Thomas. In addition, she also leaves to cherish her memories residents from the Dunson Street Retirement Home where she resided as well as other relatives and friends. The Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Pastor Gary L. Fanning officiated. Burial followed at Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.

Marion Ann Folds

Marion Ann Folds, age 72, of LaGrange, GA passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. Mrs. Folds was born January 1, 1945 in LaGrange, Ga to the late James Monroe Turner and Marion Ellen Scott Turner. She was a faithful member of Baptist Tabernacle and loved camping in her leisure time. Survivors include her husband, James Folds; children, David (Patricia) Sharp of Senoia, Tracy (Scott) Vandyke of LaGrange, Dayna (Felix) Godinez, Jami (Carlos) Sanchez, Tammy Norris all of Box Springs, and Kim (Brandon) Rakowski of LaGrange; 18 grandchildren including Merissa Bell, Brenda (JP) Blankenship, Lisa Vandyke, and Brandon Vandyke; 14 great grandchildren including Ryleigh McCall and Bella Blankenship; and a host of other relatives and friends. The gathering of family and friends was held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Baptist Tabernacle with Reverend Jimmy McMillian officiating. Burial will follow in Hillview Annex. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Baptist Tabernacle in memory of Marion Ann Folds. The family will be at the home of Marion Ann Folds. Harold Aubrey O’Neal

Mr. Harold Aubrey O’Neal, age 80, of LaGrange, GA passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Florence Hand Home. Mr. O’Neal was born September 7, 1936 in Glenn, GA, son of the late Otis Daniel O’Neal, Sr. and Elizabeth Yarbrough O’Neal. He retired from Sav-a-stop after many years. He was a member of Dunson United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Otis O’Neal, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Alice O’Neal; daughter, Donna (Curt) Snider; grandchildren, Daniel (Jessica) Snider, Sarah Beth Snider; great granddaughter, Myra Snider; brother, Joe (Lucy) O’Neal; Numerous nieces and nephews and caregivers. The gathering of family and friends will be held onWednesday, March 22, 2017 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary and the Celebration of Life starting at 2:00pm with Dr. Dan Crawford officiating.
