Mary Edna Rowe Crawford

Mrs. Mary Edna Rowe Crawford, age 81, of LaGrange, passed away on April 11, 2017 at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice. Mrs. Crawford was born on September 24, 1935 in LaGrange to the late William Carl Rowe and Vivian Prince Rowe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Roger Crawford and a sister, Margaret Faye Rowe. Mrs. Crawford worked for many years at Platex, followed by many years and retirement from the Troup County School System. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughters, Daphne Crawford and Debbie Anderson and her husband Richard Glenn Anderson, all of LaGrange; sister, Dorothy Rowe Bowen of LaGrange; grandchild, Kaitlyn Anderson of LaGrange; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins;  special friends, Derita Cox and Lynn Rooks.  Funeral services were held on Thursday at 1:00 pm at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel. Interment followed at Shadowlawn Cemetery. Family received friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. In addition to the funeral home, family received friends at the home of her niece, Robin Burgess, 101 Hawthorn Circle in LaGrange. Elmer Lee (BoBo) Miller

Elmer Lee (BoBo) Miller, age 82 of LaGrange, passed away April 9, 2017 at the Hospice LaGrange. His service was held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel. Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. until service hour. Higginslagrangechapel@yahoo.com 706-884-7117

Susan Elaine Bunn Kelley

Mrs. Susan Elaine Bunn Kelley, age 62, of Valley, AL passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at her residence. She was born on September 9, 1954 in LaGrange, GA. Mrs. Kelley is survived by her husband, Edward A. Kelley, Sr.; her son, Edward A. Kelley, Jr.; her mother, Inez Bunn; her brother, Mike (Frankie) Bunn; her three sisters-in-law, Patricia Kelley, Linda Sue May, and Ruby Lois Gray; her two brothers-in-law, Larry W. Kelley and Freddie Kelley. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Shane Kelley; her father, Jimmy Ray Bunn; and her sisters, Alice Turner and Paula Bunn. Mrs. Kelley was a member of The Church on the Rock.  She was a very loving wife, mother, and aunt.  She was a hard working lady.     Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 2:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Rev. Terry Gray officiated. Interment followed in Shawmut Cemetery.  The family received friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.

Mrs. Mabel Carter Williams

Mrs. Mabel Carter Williams, age 99, of Fredonia, moved to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the EAMC Lanier Nursing Home in Valley. Mrs. Williams was born in Lanett, Alabama on November 22, 1917 to the late Frank and Ethel Morgan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Carter; her second husband, Bill Williams; brothers, Olin, Billy, James, and Horace Morgan; sister, Louise Malcolm; and her daughter, Dalphner Redden. She was employed for a period of time with West Point Pepperell. She then went to work as the secretary and bookkeeper of her first husband’s business, Carter Construction Company. She later worked with H&R Block. She enjoyed numerous hobbies over the years with her daughter, Dalphner Redden. As a younger lady, she enjoyed playing her piano and singing in the church.  She was a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God. Mrs. Williams is survived by her son, Harold Carter, of Fredonia, and his fiancé, Lelot Hicks; grandsons, Hal Carter and his wife, Shannon, Jeremy Carter and his wife, Shannon; great-grandchildren,  Austin Carter, Ashton Carter, all of Fredonia, Jazmine Arwood, Greenville, PA.; granddaughter, Deborah Redden Williams, Thomaston, GA.; great-grandchildren, Ryan Williams, Chapel Hill, N.C., Jonathan Williams, Atlanta, GA., Lauren Williams, Washington, D.C., Nicole Williams, Thomaston, GA.; son-in-law, James Redden, Fredonia; stepchildren, Glenda Crane, Valley, Lawrence Williams and his wife, Dianne, Valley, Janice Gagnon, Clinton, Maine, Bennie Williams and his wife, Gail, Camilla, GA.; and a host of step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 2:00P.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment was held in Resthaven Cemetery. The Rev. Phillip Doss officiated. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 1:00P.M. EDT. Larry Lamar Hall

Mr. Larry Lamar Hall was born on December 13, 1953 in LaGrange Georgia. He was the son of Mary J. Hall-Underwood and the late Clemmie Alexander. He joined Springfield Baptist Church, Hogansville Georgia at an early age. Larry attended Hogansville High School and furthered his education at West Georgia Technical College. After 31 years of employment, he retired from Diverse Power as a Lead Crew Leader. On March 3, 1978, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Mary Louise Hurston. This union was blessed with eight children. Larry Lamar Hall passed away at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center on Saturday, April 8, 2017. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Milton Alexander and Leon Hardaway; one sister, Marion Flowers; his father and mother-in-law, Jimmie T. Hurston and Azella Slaughter; five brothers-in-law, George Hart, Ezekial Lynch, Wallace Hurston, Jewell and David Slaughter; two sisters-in-law, Carrie M. Brooks and Fannie M. Slaughter. Larry leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of thirty-nine years, Mary L. Hall; four sons, Larry K. Hall, Dr. Jimmy D. McCamey, Jr., Quinton L. McCamey, all of LaGrange, GA: and Carlton L. (Nylus) McCamey, Sr., Lanett, AL; four daughters, Annie S. Fields, Shameka Gilbert, Texanne McCamey, Audria M. (Willie) Norwood, LaGrange, GA; his mother, Mary J. Hall-Underwood; two brothers, Michael Hall, LaGrange, GA; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Flowers, West Point, GA; four sisters, Bobbie Hart, Patricia (Horace) Flowers, LaGrange, GA; Carolena Lynch, Willie Harden, Hogansville, GA; three sisters-in-law, Bertha M. Brewer, JoAnn Hurston, Josephine Sellers, LaGrange, GA; thirty grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren that loved him dearly; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and more friends than you can ever name. The Celebration of Life Service was held on Thursday at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Fannin Street. Minister Johnnie Freeman officiated. Burial followed at Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.

Queen” Ernestine Cotton

Queen” Ernestine Cotton was born February 18, 1924 in Chipley, Georgia to the late, Arch and Anna White. As a young woman, she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and was united in fellowship with Faith Temple Church of Deliverance. She was a Christian devoted mother for the Lord and loved everyone, especially her family. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late, Willie Cotton. On Sunday, April 9, 2017, Queen Ernestine Cotton departed this life WellStar West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange, Georgia. In addition to her parents, and her husband, Willie; she was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters. She leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Willie Neal White; one step daughter, Liz Roberts; one brother, Otis (Ruth) White, Chattanooga, Tennessee; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; a special granddaughter, Weenie Bell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The Celebration of Life Service was held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Heavenly Heights International Ministries. Pastor Jessie Adams officiated. Burial followed at Southview Cemetery. The family was at their home at 816 Truitt Street and received friends in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6-7.
