Raymond Edward Lee Neely, III

Raymond Edward Lee Neely, III, age 51, of Manchester, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 at his home. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 13, 2017 at First Assembly of God Church. Interment followed in the Manchester City Cemetery. Lee was born September 8, 1965 in Columbus, the son of Raymond Edward Lee “Eddie” Neely and Peggy Ann Taylor Neely. He was a 1984 graduate of Manchester High School and had worked at Bonar Plastics in Senoia. He was a member of Manchester First Baptist Church and was attending First Assembly of God Church. For past 10 years, Lee was employed by B Way Industries in LaGrange. He enjoyed fishing but loved NASCAR and was a big Georgia Bulldogs fan. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Raymond Edward Lee Neely, Sr. and Aubrey Beck Neely; his maternal grandparents, J.W. Taylor and Helen Strickland Taylor and his father, Raymond Edward Lee “Eddie” Neely, Jr. Survivors include his mother, Peggy Taylor Neely Woodbury; his sister, Wanda Elliott and her husband, John of Woodbury; his daughter, Shannon Spratlin of Manchester; two uncles, John Will Taylor, Jr. of Griffin, Mark Lee Taylor of Monks Corner, SC; nieces and nephews, Megan Elliott Costley of LaGrange, Johnathan Elliott of Woodbury; great nieces and nephews, Caliana Costley, Naveah Elliott and Jackson Costley. Rev. Carl E. Knowles

Rev. Carl E. Knowles, age 78, of Greenville, GA passed away at his home on April 10, 2017. Carl Knowles was born May 29, 1938 in Thomaston, GA the son of H.L. and Eula Belle Thompson Knowles. He retired as a manager in the Hospitality business with Milliken & Company Design Center following 30 years of service. Rev. Knowles preached for 40 + years and was the Pastor of Calvary Full Gospel Church in Meriwether County until his retirement. He, along with his family, toured as the Happy Keys Quartet for over 16 years. Rev. Knowles was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dewel Knowles. He is survived by his wife Fran Knowles of Greenville, GA; daughters Lesia (Joe) Ansaldo of LaGrange, GA and Christie (Andy) Milam of Warm Springs; son John Carl Knowles of Greenville; sister Sara Longshore, Greenville; four grandchildren J. R. Furgerson (Kelly), Drew Milam, Megan Milam (Tyler Evans) and Alex Ansaldo (Casey); and great-grandchildren Gabby & Maddie Furgerson and expecting Rory Evans as well as many nieces and nephews. Prior to death, Rev. Knowles stressed to his wife that he did not want a big to-do following his passing. Lewis Stevenson Cunningham

Lewis Stevenson Cunningham, age 64, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 at West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange, Georgia. Celebration of life services were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 15, 2017 in the Fellowship Hall at the First Baptist Church of Valdosta. The family will hold a private interment at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Steve Cunningham was born in Valdosta, Georgia to Willie Earl and Lois Wiley Cunningham on May 9, 1952. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Valdosta State University. While in college, he became a brother of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and remained active throughout his life as an Alumni. Mr. Cunningham was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Valdosta and the Elks Lodge of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Stanton Cunningham. He is survived by his mother, Lois Cunningham; son, Will (Larkin) Cunningham, M.D., of Warm Springs; daughter, Kelly (Shaun) Dillavou, of Simpsonville, South Carolina; sister, Charlotte (Joe) Ford, of Valdosta; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Luther Doyle Blakley

Luther Doyle Blakley, age 66, of LaGrange, passed away at the WellStar West GA Medical Center on April 12, 2017. Mr. Blakley was born on January 21, 1951 to the late, Troy Blakley and Hagar Marie Atterberry Blakley. Mr. Blakley was born in Oklahoma but moved to LaGrange GA where he served his community as a plumber. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Jim, Bill, Charles, and Peerless Blakley; sister, Lina Daniel. Survivors include his wife, Glenda Thomas Blakley; son, Johnny Blakley and his wife Angie; daughter, Regina Blakley Fetter and her husband Tony; sister, LouAnn Templeton and her husband Jerry; grandchildren, Seon Fetter and his wif, Macy, Shelbi Eddelman and her husband Jayson, Nathan Blakley, Cody Blakley; great-grandchildren, Rylynn, Olivia, Elias and Emily Eddelman, T.J. Fetter. The family received friends for visitation on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Baptist Tabernacle from 12:00-2:00 p.m. The funeral service followed at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Rev. Bonnie Lonedta Campbell

Bonnie Lonedta Campbell passed away at the WellStar West GA Hospice on April 14, 2017. Mrs. Campbell was born in Jacksonville, Alabama on July 29, 1939 to the late Robert Washington Timms and Alma Bernice Bryan Timms. She was an administrator at Kleen-Tex in LaGrange. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Roger Robert Timms; sister, Peggy Sherrie Hill; brother-in-law, James (Jimmy) Carl Wright. Survivors include her son, Anthony Lamar Campbell and his wife, Connie; brother, Phillip Ricky Timms; sisters, Patricia Timms Wyche and her husband Pearce, Linda Faye Timms Wright; grandchildren, Kristin Campbell Ricks and her husband Johny, Britney Nicole Campbell; great-grandchildren, Hatcher Thomas Ricks and Shepherd Morgan Ricks. The family received friends for visitation at Grace Baptist Church on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. A memorial service followed starting at 2:00 p.m.  Rev. Donnie Benefield officiated. Robert Lee Munsey

Mr. Robert Lee Munsey, age 71, of Franklin, passed away on April 15, 2017 at the Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Mr. Munsey was born on February 2, 1946 in Loudon, Tennessee to the late Preston Munsey and Lora Edith Thacker Munsey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Roberta West. Mr. Munsey was a Veteran of the United States Army and most recently worked at Parkview Nursing Home. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Elaine Norris Munsey of Franklin; son, Michael Robert Munsey and his wife Lee of Loganville; daughter, Kara Munsey Browning and her husband Brad of Kingston, Tennessee; brother, Johnny Munsey; sister, Joyce Livingston; grandchildren, Josh Munsey, Taylor Browning, Colt Browning, Keenan Mulkey; step-son, Wesley Mulkey and his wife Amanda of Franklin; extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00-1:00 at the funeral home.

Billie Wayne Weekes

Mrs. Billie Wayne Weekes, age 76, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Weekes was born in Langdale, Alabama on January 28, 1941 to the late Washington Clyde Austin and Hazel Stewart Austin. Mrs. Weekes was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church in Valley.  She enjoyed volunteering each month at Callaway Gardens. Some of her interests included reading, representing Avon, and Avon products. She and her late husband were former business owners in the Valley area. They owned and operated the House of Wheels in Valley and the Midway Café in Riverview. She is survived by her children, Dwayne (Lori) Holmes, Valley, Dale (Paula) Holmes, Valley, Darren Holmes (Carol Jean Milstead), Tuscaloosa, Samantha (Billy) Miller, Valley; grandchildren, Elora Holmes, Brittany Christopher, Darian Holmes, Jarrod Holmes, Jonathan Holmes, Cori Cook, Seth Holmes; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Bobby Austin, Pat Meadows, Shirley Aaron, Randy Austin. Graveside services were held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery at 11:00A.M. EDT. The Rev. Jonathan Herston officiated.
