 Jacobi Vanessa “Van” Kelley Ferrell

Mrs. Jacobi Vanessa “Van” Kelley Ferrell was born December 20, 1956 in LaGrange, Georgia to the late, Mr. Henry L. Kelley, Sr. and Mrs. Amey Watkins Kelley. She confessed her belief in Jesus Christ at an early age and became a member of Rising Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Praise Team and Senior Choir. Vanessa was a 1974 graduate of LaGrange High School. She was previously employed by Dixie Textile, Duracell Corporation, and Western Sizzler Restaurant; later retiring from her ultimate love and passion as an In-Home Senior Caregiver. On November 21, 1998, Vanessa married the love of her life and best friend, Mr. Robert Tyrone Ferrell; and the two were blessed to create a lifetime of treasured and joyful moments. Vanessa loved to go to yard sales, watch Soap Operas and watching her Atlanta sports teams. In His sovereignty, on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Georgia; God released His servant from her earthly labor in exchange for Eternal Rest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mr. Randolph Kelley; sister, Valerie Kelley. Vanessa leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted husband of twenty years, Robert Ferrell, LaGrange, GA; three brothers:  Leroy Kelley, Sr., College Park, GA; Rev. Henry (Betty) Kelley, Jr., LaGrange, GA; and Clinton Kelley, Sr., College Park, GA; mother-in-law, Mrs. Corine Ferrell, LaGrange, GA; brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Nadine) Ferrell, Derick (LaShekia) Ferrell; sisters-in-law:  Jessie Mae Kelley, Sonya (Dan) Shackleford, Loretta (Marvin) McIntyre, Maxine (Rufus) Bailey, and Vickie (Willie) Traylor; aunts:  Willie Mae Cameron and Ada Ware; and a host of treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018, 2:00 PM, at Rising Grove Baptist Church, 209 East Crovat Street, LaGrange, Georgia 30240.


 Isham Wright

Arthur Isham Wright, 74, of LaGrange, GA, passed away September 5, 2018 at his home surrounded by family after an extended illness. Mr. Wright was born May 25, 1944 in Manchester, GA, the son of Jacob Bradford and Princess Alma Allen Wright. He was very active in his church serving as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher at Northside Baptist Church, Manchester for many years and then later as Sunday School teacher at Rosemont Baptist Church in LaGrange. He also enjoyed spending time with family and taking walks around his property.

Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lenita Shivers of Manchester. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Parrott Wright of LaGrange; his daughter, Aleisa (Jimmy) Garrett of LaGrange; son, Brian (Suzanne) Wright of LaGrange; and 4 grandchildren, Jase (Chasity) Garrett of LaGrange, Jenna (Piet) Garrett of Ghent, Belgium, Rebecca Wright of Panama City Beach, Florida and Jacob Wright of LaGrange; brother Bradford (Sylvia) Wright, Jr. of Woodbury, sister, Nadra (Leonard) Pilkinton of Manchester; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Macedonia Baptist Church, Manchester, GA with interment following in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was held from 2:00 -3:00 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church sanctuary prior to the service. In lieu of flowers contributions were asked to be given in memory of Isham Wright to the Juvenile Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.



  Walter William Holloway

Funeral services for Walter William Holloway, age 77, of Roanoke were held on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Scott Whaley, Bro. Steve Williams and Bro. Henry Nelson officiating.  Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family received friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, September 7, 2018. Mr. Holloway passed on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at his home.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Heard Holloway of Roanoke; two daughters, Lynne Kelly (Arnold) of Birmingham and Lena Sands (Robert) of Haltom City, Texas; three sons, Randy Holloway (Robyn) of Odenton, Maryland, Scott Holloway of Roanoke, and Wally Williamson (Christina) of Roanoke; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lillie Pearl Richardson of California; and one brother, Larry Holloway of Wedowee. Pallbearers were Steve Lashley, Rex Marshall, Ronald Cameron, Steve Snow, James Sheppard, Tim Satterwhite, Lynn Joel Wilkins, and Tony Heard.  Honorary Pallbearers were his grandsons. A Wedowee native, Mr. Holloway was born October 10, 1940, the son Roy Holloway and Maudie Simpson Holloway.  He was a member of Zion’s Rest Bible Church and had worked as a supervisor for Amoco Fabrics and Ajax Boilers in Gardena California. He was a former resident of Lawndale, California for 32 years. Mr. Holloway was a strong family man and an avid Alabama football fan.  Mr. Holloway was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kelly Campell; one brother, Roosevelt Holloway; four sisters, Mavis Hand, Mary Francis Wilson, Sara Martin, and Rachel Perry.
