Judith Ann Barbour Bledsoe
Mrs. Judith Ann Barbour Bledsoe, age 78, of LaGrange, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 3, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Bledsoe was born on July 21, 1940 in Raleigh, NC to the late B. H. Barbour and the late Emily Richardson Barbour. Mrs. Bledsoe was a Registered Nurse and a dependable volunteer. Her many activities began with being a school volunteer and Den Mother to each of her sons. She was named “Volunteer of the Year” while on her way to accruing over 8,000 hour as a hospital volunteer. Mrs. Bledsoe was involved in many activities in support of LaGrange First United Methodist Church and she was recognized as “Woman of the Year” for her long time support of the LaGrange Woman’s Club and Bellevue. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Craig Bledsoe. Survivors include her husband, Leard Bernard Bledsoe, Jr., her son, David Alan Bledsoe (Mary Kathleen “Kathy”), grandsons, Westin and Keller Bledsoe, her brother, Daniel Barbour (Linda), sister-in law, Kaye France Barbour, and many cousins and nephews. A memorial service will be announced in the near future. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Woman’s Club Charitable Trust (Bellevue) or to LaGrange First United Methodist Church.
Joel Chandler Harris, Jr.
Mr. Joel Chandler Harris, Jr., age 63, of LaGrange, passed away on October 3, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Harris was born on September 19, 1955 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Joel Chandler Harris, Sr. and Mary Pruitt Harris. He worked for many years at Milliken. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother in law, Gina Harris Gatlin and Rod Gatlin. Survivors include his wife, Susan Diane Barber Harris; daughter, Kristy Leigh Harris Stewart and her husband Daniel; sisters, Julie Harris Sandner (Robert) and Jonie Harris Pressley (Larry); grandchildren, Dylan Chandler Stewart and Kenleigh Jade Stewart; nieces, nephew, extended family and friends. Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Higgins LaGrange Chapel. Family received friends from 1:00 pm until service hour at the funeral home. Winfred Lamar Miolen
Mr. Lamar Miolen, 72, of LaGrange passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Piedmont Midtown Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. Mr. Miolen was born May 15, 1946 in Calhoun, Georgia the son of the late Christopher & Gladys Langston Miolen. He was the owner of LaGrange Stainless, Inc. and a member of Western Heights Baptist Church. Lamar enjoyed reading the Bible, playing golf, and was a United States Navy Veteran. Survivors include his Son, Brett Miolen and wife, Andrea; Daughter: Amanda Langley; Grandchildren: Jonathan Shaffer, Hadley Miolen; and beloved family and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Lamar Miolen were held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday morning, October 6, 2018 from Western Heights Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Jones officiating. The family received friends Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 pm and Saturday morning from 10:00-11:00 at the church. Larry Glenn Partridge
Mr. Larry Glenn Partridge was born March 2, 1949 to Viola Glenn Partridge and the late Junior Partridge in LaGrange, Georgia. Early in life, he joined Antioch Baptist Church. Larry was educated in the Troup County School System. He graduated from Ethel W. Kight High School in 1968. He served in the United States Army after graduation. He continued his education at Albany State College where he “partied like it was 1999.”
He was employed by Interface in LaGrange for approximately twenty-five years. There was a special bond between him and his co-workers. Larry loved life and family was very important to him. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He possessed a loving smile and an infectious laugh that could be heard a mile away. On Monday, October 1, 2018, Larry’s battle with cancer ended at his home in LaGrange, Georgia surrounded by his loving family. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Viola Glenn Partridge; stepmother, Marion Partridge; his children: Kenya Partridge, Atlanta, GA; Lavaras Williams, Newnan, GA; Sheldon Partridge, Atlanta, GA; Shenona Williams, Lanett, AL; Tanzania Partridge, Savannah, GA; stepdaughters: Shenovia Williams, West Point, GA; Kirstine Congress, LaGrange, GA; nine loving grandchildren: JaQualen Williams, Ulysia Williams, Trey Williams, LaTya Gilliam and Ladarious Williams, all of West Point, GA; Lavaras Williams, Jr., Atlanta, GA; Jeremiah Ford and KaNyla Congress, LaGrange, GA; Brielle Mungin, Savannah, GA; sisters: Lynda Partridge Dunlap, Deborah Partridge Bray and Mona Lisa Johnson; special nephews: DeWarren “Pokey” Rutledge and Jayson Bray; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, special friends; special brothers: George King, Claude Tomme, Hines Whatley, and Fred Hines; special sisters: Penny Boykin Woodyard, Cynthia Boykin, and Barbara Brewer Craddick. The Celebration of Life Service was held Friday, October 5, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Dr. W. T. Edmondson and Rev. Bobbie Robinson officiated. Burial followed at Southview Cemetery.
