Jon Eric Piper
Mr. Jon Eric Piper, age 56, of LaGrange, passed away on June 6, 2019 at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice. Mr. Piper was born on January 28, 1963 in LaGrange to the late James Howard Piper and Barbara Butler Piper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Becky Hooks, David Piper and Jenny McAlister and a nephew, Matthew Piper. Survivors include his sisters, Lynn Chadwick and Lori Bass and his brother, Ken Piper; nieces and nephews, Chris Lane, Shannon and Jim Bassett, Amber Rose Piper, Alex Chadwick, Joe Chadwick, Judd Chadwick and Emily Chadwick, Rebecca and Raven Bass, Adam Baldwin and Erin Wentz; numerous great nieces and nephews. Family services will be held in memory of Mr. Piper.
Lura Heard Anderson
Mrs. Lura Heard Anderson, 96, a resident of LaGrange Georgia passed away early Thursday morning at her home. Lura was born September 16, 1922 in Randolph County Alabama the daughter of the late Warner Jackson & Fannie Mae Hester Heard. She was a member of East LaGrange Baptist Church and a retired employee of Westinghouse.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Lura Heard Anderson will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday from the chapel of the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel with The Reverend Bobby Robinson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home (Sunday) afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until the Service hour of 3:00 P.M. Interment will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
Jerry Lee Moore
Mr. Jerry Lee Moore, son of Mrs. Katherine Moore and the late, Willie Sam Moore, Sr. was born June 12, 1959 in LaGrange, Georgia. He attended Zion Hill Baptist Church. Jerry was educated in the LaGrange School System, attending LaGrange High School. On May 20, 1997, Jerry was united in Holy Matrimony to Sonya Yvette Martin Moore. His chosen Career path was working within the family business, Moore’s Roofing where he served as an experienced roofer. Jerry was also experienced in Construction work and general installation. He was a ‘jack of all trades.’ He loved his family, sports, reading, and living his life to the fullest. On Monday, June 3, 2019, Jerry Lee Moore quietly departed this life at WellStar Cobb Hospital in Austell, Georgia. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cook and Mr. and Mrs. Theodore and Pearline Moore; brothers: Alfonzo Moore, Johnny Moore, Tommie Moore; nephew, Antonio Davis; uncles and aunts: Ashley Cameron, Rev. Robinson, Bertha Stargell, Addie (Jessie) Addie Hutchinson, Sr., Jeanette (Jessie) Tucker, Kate Moore, Charles (Corine) Moore, James Cook, Willie (Mattie) Cook, and Grover (Annie) Cook. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Sonya Y. Moore; mother, Katherine Moore; children: Renaldo Edmondson, LaGrange, GA; April Martin, Keisha Martin, and Antonio Martin, all of Marietta, GA; grandchildren: Renaya, Jamarri, Marquavis, MJ, Kofe, Amoria, Kimberly, Khamryn, Tariq, Khaylah, Skylar, Lil Antonio, Caleigh, LJ, Aidan, and great grandchild, Rae Lynn; his beloved sisters: Yulander Moore (Shina) Shosah, Austell, GA; Ethel Tucker, Roanoke, AL; six brothers: Willie Sam Moore, Jr., John Willie Moore, Ricky Lee Moore, Jeffrey Paul (Shanthony) Moore, David Germaine Moore, Sammy (Shirley) Moore, all of LaGrange, GA; aunts and uncles: Dora Cameron, Pauline Fannin, Mable Berry, Ernest (Beatrice) Moore, Katherine Cook; father and mother-in-law, Glen and Joanne Martin; sisters-in-law: Janet (Nate) Banks and Donna Conley; brothers-in-law: Glenn (Teresa) Martin, Vincent Martin, Gary Martin, Michael (Kunde) Martin, Kenneth Martin, all of Marietta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The Celebration of Life Service were held Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Pastor William A. Dean officiated. Interment followed at Southveiw Cemetery. The family received friends in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home on Friday from 6-7.
Beulah Sims Cato
Mrs. Beulah Sims Cato, 66, of LaGrange, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at her home. Mrs. Cato was born on August 26, 1952, daughter of the late John Alvin Sims and Ola Mae Furlow Sims. She was a lifelong resident of LaGrange and had worked for Dunson Mill for 40 years. Mrs. Cato loved doing puzzles and was a constant watcher of The Weather Channel. Survivors include her daughter, Tina Brown of LaGrange; son, Donald Parker and fiancé Rebecca Uran of LaGrange; brother, Douglas Sims of LaGrange; grandchildren, Dylan Brown, Donovan Brown, Chris Parker, Shelby Parker, Anissa Parker, Haley Uran, Christopher Uran, and Savannah Parker; great-grandchildren, Mareya Parker, Tyson Mowers, Nevaeh Parker, Sophia Ellington. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 8, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Reverend Randall Hodge officiated and interment was in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home from 1 until 3 Saturday afternoon.
