Jodie Wilbur “J.W.” Railey

Jodie Wilbur “J.W.” Railey, passed away on July 12, 2019 at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice. He was born on January 23, 1928 to the late John Railey and Molly Florence Bates Railey in Troup County, GA. He served in the United States Air FGorce and the United States Army and was a painter in LaGrange for many years. Surviving are his sons, Wayne Railey (Pam) and Darrell Railey; daughters, Phyllis Brannon (Rickey) and Delores Bowen (Greg); numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Family will have visitation on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Lakeview Baptist Church from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. Graveside services will follow at Meadoway Gardens beginning at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Muscular Dystrophy Association.




Ricky Lamar Panell

Ricky Lamar Pannell, 68, of LaGrange passed away Saturday at Wellstar Hospice LaGrange. Funeral Services for Mr. Ricky Lamar Pannell will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday from the chapel of the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral home. Interment will follow in the Sargent Baptist Church Cemetery, Sargent GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour of 2:00.


Sandra Davis Moncus

Mrs. Sandra Davis Moncus, 72, of LaGrange passed away early Saturday morning at her home. Sandra was born Sandra Jean Davis, December 16, 1946 in Hogansville the daughter of the late Clifford W. and Doris Lunsford Davis. Sandra retired from the Troup County School System as a teacher. She received her Bachelor’s Degree and Masters of Education from LaGrange College and furthered her education with an Educational Specialist Degree from the State University of West Georgia. She was dearly loved by the entire Moncus Family. Survivors include: Her Loving Husband: Michael Moncus Children: Matthew Moncus (Erica) Amanda Moncus Grandchildren: Davis Moncus, Isabella Moncus, Madison Moncus, and Trey Ketchum Brother: Michael Davis Extended family and friends. Funeral Services for Mrs. Sandra Davis Moncus were held Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home with The Reverend Lamar Truitt officiating. Interment followed in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery. The family gathered at the family home (Nan Moncus Helms), 307 Harwell Avenue.  Jewell Azalene Glenn

Ms. Jewell Azelene Glenn was born December 8, 1927 in LaGrange, Georgia to the late Maxie Johnson and Annie Bray Johnson.She was educated by Troup County School System and furthered her education at West Georgia Technical College. At an early age she joined Church of Christ on Wright Street in LaGrange, Georgia where she was a faithful and dedicated member. She later continued serving the Lord at the South Park Avenue Church of Christ in LaGrange; until her health started to decline.Jewell enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling, and taking care of others. Her family and extended family was the center of her life. It was always a joy to be in her presence. On Tuesday, July 9, 2019; Jewell passed away at A.G. Rhodes Health & Rehab in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, James Glenn Jr., son, Darrell Glenn; daughter, Parthenia Ector; and sister, Mildred Turrentine. She leaves to cherish her memories, son, Vincent (Cathy) Glenn; daughter, Janet (Donald) Cotton; nine grandchildren: Merlin (Antoinette) Ector, Chekesha Johnson, Jennifer (Mario) McDaniel, Calandra Alford, Alonzo Hightower, Travis McLaughlin, Samora Naylor, Darian Cotton, and DaVarus Cotton; sister, Rudene Byron, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends; and a very special and loving god-son, Grantford Williams; god-daughter, Cathy Hutchinson. The Celebration of Life Service were held Monday, July 15, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at South Park Avenue Church of Christ. Minister David Kimmons officiated. Interment followed at Shadowlawn Cemetery.
