June Crime Stopper Rewards

During their June meeting, the Troup County Crime Stoppers approved rewards for two tips that led to the arrest of two separate individuals, one where a stolen truck was recovered and another where a man was wanted for a violent incident.

In the first tip investigation, the caller gave information on the location of a stolen Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck. Sheriff’s Investigators checked the address provided and recovered the stolen truck. Christopher Drake was charged with Theft by Receiving, as a result.

The second tipster gave information on the location Robert Honohan, who had two active warrants for Simple Battery. Deputies checked the information provided and found Honohan, who was taken into custody.

The rewards for these cases were not specifically previously offered, but were later recommended by law enforcement officers who acted on the tips provided. The Crime Stopper Board elected to award the anonymous tipsters at the request of Troup County Sheriff’s Deputies. When tipsters call the Crime Stopper hotline, they are given a caller code so they can anonymously later pick up any potential rewards from the bank. These caller codes are published so that the tipsters can know their reward was approved. All they have to do then is give the bank with the caller code and another secret code given to them when they initially provided the tip, in order to pick up the cash reward.

The following reward was approved during the Thursday, June 4 meeting:

• Caller Code 20795 for $250

• Caller Code 20795 for $250 The Troup County Crime Stoppers also have several outstanding rewards issued:

• Possible Reward of $500 for information leading to the arrest of suspect( s) responsible for the January 28, 2016 Burglary of Sonny’s Restaurant.

• Possible Reward of $1,000 is being offered for any information leading to an arrest in the murder of William Kent Adams on April 15, 2003 in the 600 block of Ridley Avenue in LaGrange.

In anyone has any information on these incidents, please call the Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000.
