LaGrange Police are investigating an incident where two men appear to have been ambushed while driving on Edgewood Avenue.

Saturday afternoon, about 4:21 p.m., officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to the area of Edgewood Avenue in reference to reports of a vehicle collision and gunshots fired in the area.

While en route, police were notified by a possible victim that he was shot at while driving down Edgewood Avenue.

Police arrived on scene and found a red Toyota Camry in the roadway, with extensive damage to the front of the vehicle, as well as multiple bullet casings along the roadway.

Detectives later spoke with two males, who stated they were traveling together on Edgewood Avenue toward South Ogletree Street, when they noticed the red vehicle in their lane of travel and stopped. The driver told police he then began to pass the vehicle and as he did, it accelerated and deliberately hit his vehicle, causing them to spin out into the ditch. The driver stated the occupants of the red Camry began firing gunshots at their vehicle as they passed. The occupants of the red vehicle reportedly fled from the vehicle before police arrived. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The exact identities of the occupants of the red Toyota Camry are unknown at this time.
